I planned my trip to DW to put a positive spin on an ugly birthday (40). I haven't been in almost 8 years and really want it to be an amazing time. I've seen posts about wearing bday pins and whatnot for maybe a little extra magic and I just wondered, where does one get such a pin? Is it something I should find locally and bring with? Part of me feels awkward about advertising but hey, I'm spending enough money on this trip so bring on the pixie dust! :cool1:

You can get them at resort check-in, or at customer relations in a park.

P.S. 40's not so bad. :) ;)

Get them at the front desk/ concierge if you are staying onsite or at any park Guest Relations.

And from someone standing on the far side of 60, 40 looks pretty good.

And just think of the only real alternative to another bday, lol! (
I'll tell myself that when I turn 57 later this summer)! So, go all out and celebrate how lucky you are to be turning 40 this year and have a great 40th birthday trip! :cake:

We're going to Disney in a few weeks to celebrate my 40th and mom's 70th Birthdays! We can hardly wait! Have a great time and enjoy!

Please remember that any given day one of ever 365 people at WDW are celebrating their actual birthday, and a lot more people are celebrating a recent or upcoming birthday. And, everyone (birthday or not) has paid a lot of money for their vacation. If you wear a button, a few cast members might wish you a Happy Birthday, and if you eat at a table service restaurant, you might get a free cupcake. But that's about it. I don't want you to have expectations about all the perks you will get and then be disappointed when they don't happen.

Happy birthday!

I was going for my 40th too but we moved it up a year. I kind of want to pretend I didn't just turn 39 when we go and pretend I am 40 lol! It will be nice a few years ago we kind of made my husband wear a button on his birthday in the parks at first he was a little reluctant but he loved all the well wishes! He never got anyhitng else but that was enough to make it special.

:bday: Have a wonderful time ! The pin will get you a lot of well wishes and happy smiles for sure , anything else is purely a chance. Be sure to tell the CM at check-in about your special day. I got an adorable " birthday cake" made out of face cloths and stickers from our mouse keeper and quite a few free desserts and cupcakes. You just never know. Enjoy , here is some PixieDust to get you started. pixiedust:

Hey! Happy Pre-Birthday! :bday: I'm going to be celebrating my 40th :cake:during our trip too! And my DH will be celebrating his 49th! I thought, why not! You can have them note your reservation that you are celebrating and they should have a pin ready for you at checkin at your disney resort. If not, just tell them at the front desk and they will get you one!

We celebrated our anniversary during our 2013 trip, and we had buttons. We got a lot of well wishes and it was very sweet. We did get quite a bit of magic thrown our way from great cast members, but we did not expect it nor do we expect it this time. It's just extra special if it happens.

If you told them you were celebrating when you made the reservation, they likely will have one waiting for you at check-in, already made out and everything. If you're off-site, the first place to get them is at City Hall in MK or equivalent guest relations location.

Disney is a great place to feel young at heart :cutie:

You're not even half way through your life yet. It's just beginning! hehe :flower3:
Have an amazing Disney birthday!!

Advertise away!!! :)

We will be in MK on my husband's 44th birthday and I just turned 45 yesterday (though no pin for me). We were here for his 38th birthday when I was pregnant and he LOVED getting all the attention. It was fun.

Others have told you where to get the pin so enjoy. However, if you feel any birthday is an "ugly" one, what are you going to do for the rest of your life? Yes, birthdays are a reminder of turning older but you are doing that now as you are reading this. Every minute of every day is turning older. Time won't stop at all so just have fun!
