Hi! I'm sure I've seen this question asked here before, but since I can't find it I'm asking. My son is turning 7 on April 29th. We are staying at WL May 7-14. Because of this trip, we can't afford to have a party for him and do the trip. He will have a friend come over and they will go bowling, dinner and a sleepover. The trip is part of his birthday. My question is this, I'd like to acknowledge his birthday in someway, besides telling the CMs at our PS. Is there a way to have a card or something sent to the room? It doesn't have to be there the second we check in. How would I set this up? Sorry this was so long, thanks for any suggestions:jester:

Absolutely, make sure you tell them at check-in at the WL that you are on this trip for your son's birthday present. I would even tell them that he gave up a big party at home with his friends so he could be with Mickey. Last year we were at the WL for my husband's 40th and I made sure to tell them at check-in. On his birthday when we went back to the room a nice card was left for him which was "signed" by the characters along with some balloons and a small box of chocolates. This was not expected at all and I'm certain it doesn't happen all of the time but it was really special for him that day and he's not a little one like your son. Make sure you take him to get a birthday button in the park of your choice; at MK it's at town hall and they will have him listen to a phone call where Mickey will wish him a happy birthday too. Make sure you also tell the cast members at any restaurant you visit as well - take lots of pictures too as this probably won't happen again soon :yo-yo: :earsboy: :bounce: ::MinnieMo

Thank you for the tips on letting Disney and the resort know about a birthday. My family and I will be at Disney at the end of June for my 40th birthday. We are staying at POFQ - anyone know what they do for birthdays?

HamHam - thanks for all the great suggestions. I'll be sure to let them know at check in. How great that they did that for your husband, I hope my son can be that lucky!

Happy (early) birthday to your son. What a fun trip he will have.

Please consider ordering a little something from the Disney Florist -- click here for a few of their birthday suggestions. If you don't see anything on their website that you like, please call them and tell them what you're looking for. They will work with you, and within your price range, to come up with something fun for your child. I have used the Disney Florist in the past and have been happy with their work.

We were at this resort one year also during my hubby's birthday; I told the cast member at check in and again a nice birthday card with a character picture on it was left in the room during our stay. It's really cool to come back and find that

I just checked out the link to the birthday suggestions from the disney florist - all I can say is wow! $45 for a balloon bouquet? I'd rather spend that money on a nice birthday lunch in one of the parks. I don't think you can bring balloons home on a plane anyway.

Please keep in mind that birthdays are NOT always acknowledged, even if you tell them at check-in.

In order to avoid disappointment, you really need to make plans on your own. The suggestion of calling the Disney Florist ina dvance and having a gift basket or balloons or something delivered is an excellent one. You should also be able to make arrangements in advance to get a cake, call room service about it in advance. You can call the restaurant you will be eating at on his birthday in advance and arrange for a cake there. The key is, YOU need to be the one making the arrangements, you can't "wait for WDW" to do something, because it might not happen, which would be disappointing.

Hey,

Where are you having your home built? I am thinking relocating from the South Florida area and am absolutely CLUELESS about some of the new areas being built. I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
