DH and I will be going with our three girls (8, 5 & 5) during the week of our 21st anniversary. We're budgeting for a Kid's Night Out babysister for one night (so we'll have a minimum of 4 hours), and we're staying at the Wilderness Lodge hotel. We'll have the regular dining plan, but we don't mind paying OOP for one meal if we have to. (Not Victoria & Albert, though!) We won't have park passes for that day (we're having a pool day on that day), either.

Any suggestions on how we can celebrate without breaking the bank?

Maybe a night at GF starting with drinks at Mizner's lounge and listening to the band then having dinner at Citricos. You could boat to MK and then boat to GF or boat to CR and monorail to GF. Maybe a nice stroll along the beach or the walkway to Poly after dinner or watch the water parade.

I would stay right at WL and eat at Artist Point! It's, IMHO, one of the best signatures at WDW. Beautiful, quiet, great food and great service. Or, take the boat over to CR and eat at Cali Grill. The view is stunning! If you would rather not eat at a signature, The Wave at CR has great food (and is a nice boat ride from WL) and GF Cafe is also lovely.

Our favorite place for a special occasion at WDW is Jiko at AKL. Excellent food and wonderful service. It is one of the very few places at WDW that I never feel rushed - at all. The good thing about heading to Jiko is that AKL is a great place to walk around. There are so many spots to view the animals and the inside is just really gorgeous. There is a nice lounge above Boma where you could get a drink.

We also had an anniversary dinner at Artist Point MANY years ago. At that time it was a great restaurant with awesome food and we had an amazing CM but I have read that it has been very hit or miss lately.

Another fun option would be to head to Disney Springs. There are so many restaurants there to choose from plus you can walk around and check out all the shops. We really like the Boathouse but there are a bunch of restaurants that are new that we haven't tried yet. There are also several great bar locations to stop have a drink.

We have celebrated our anniversary and Valentine's Day at Artist's Point while staying at Wilderness Lodge. It was very nice to dress up, go down stairs and check in for our dinner. The food was excellent, the service excellent and the restaurant is beautiful. Be sure to ask for a window table when you check in. The view is lovely and adds to the special occasion.

Another vote for Jiko's I as least think its the best restaurant in WDW and once done you can wonder around AKL which is worth a trip just to look around.
