Celebrating Our 2nd Anniversary at WDW!!- PTR Update 11/1/2010 with TR Link!!

Yum Boma! Looks great, just a note, Jungle Cruise is in MK, not AK, so dont' look for it there or think you missed it!
Lol oops. I edited it and removed it.

We saw Flights of Wonder our last trip, it really is a neat show. I'd try hard to see it if you can. You will find that the show times for FoW, FOTLK & Nemo all conflict with one another.

Kali River Rapids you may get drenched, just be aware if you decide to ride so you can time it when that isn't going to cause a problem for you (as in you wouldn't want to be going into airconditioning or to dinner right before riding)

Tree of Life contains the It's tough to be a bug - it's on discovery island, not in Africia

I recommend Tusker House if you're wanting a table service, if you book a lunch at a certain time they will give you a pass for the Nemo show without having to wait in the standby line for it if that's important to you. You can also FP the Safari before your meal & when you're finished it should be time to enjoy, this helps cut down on the walking in AK. It's very spread out so a plan is very helpful so you're not crisscrossing the park all day.

I don't think you'll have any problem seeing everything you want a AK. Do try to go on the P.Trail & M.Jungle Trek, they don't take long & very nice to see.

I just dont know if Flight of wonder would be our thing or not. We have watched bird shows at Sea World and Dollywood. They were ok, but not a highight of our trip. I will consider it tho and ask Brian...I know he would get into it more than me.

Is there a way to get all of the show schedules ahead of time? The only one I have found is Lion King.... I knew Its tough to be a bug was in the Tree of life but probably copied and pasted wrong or just got all of my info mixed around. I will look at it and change it...Thanks for the heads up! If we have extra time I will try to get to P. Trail and Jungle trek. I did read the description and it sounded beautiful and might be a good place to get away from all the craziness

Just stumbled upon your PTR i always love reading a first timers PTR's and TR's. Definatly gives you a great feeling to follow allow!! I love bringing someone new with us. The last two times I went i had my now wife's first visit in which we got engaged there.. And the 2nd time was my Step Son's first visit in which we got married incognito there!! We love everything Disney!!

After reading your first day post its funny to see everyones different ways they start there trip. We dont enter a major park until the first full day there. So we explore alot the day we arrive. But as a poster said early take your time there on your first day. You will find yourself very excited and tired already at the same time.. And probably overwhelmed. So dont be upset if you cant get everything you possibly want done, done!

Love your choice of Cosmic Ray's. Its actually my favorite QS meal. It will be noisey but i think its very tolerable! I know im rambling on but love to give my insight.

A seat for wishes and spectro hmm. we usually sit in the hub but i noticed last time we missed a few of the fireworks.. but we do like it there.. I would suggest somewhere near the hub or even on the bridge that connects main st. to the hub. Great viewing section. But get there early it fills up fast. I saw one poster say something about getting out fast. I feel its "Disney" walking out with the crowds and seeing the lights on main street is wonderful!

Like the plan on AK and would love to hear about Boma from you! Have yet to eat there!!

I will stop rambling on lol.. Cant wait to read more!!

Ok I need help!! I'm rethinking all of my plans. I really need some expert advice here.

After review our plans I realize we are NEVER taking advantage of EMH's! If this something I should switch around? I have read in a few books to just avoid them, but also in TR's how important they were.

2nd We have purchased tickets with park hopping but in my current schedule I never take advantage of this. Should I rework my schedule? When using park hoppers do you normally choose one park for a.m and then 2nd in evening. I'm thinking park hopping might be essential if we do decide to take advantage of EMHs.

I'm feeling very overwhelmed here. :surfweb:

I love EMH's...if you're up early anyways, take advantage of them or if you're night people, too! They are so much fun and nice to take advantage of, IMO!

About park hoppers, unless you plan to go to a couple of parks a day, i dont think you need them.Your plans seem to be in one park per day, so I say get rid of them and save the money for souvies, you know? Especially being your 1st trip, I say keep it to one park per day....and if youre done with a particular park one day, enjoy some down time at DTD or the pool!:wizard:

Is it too late to get rid of the park hoppers now since we have paid in full and everything? If it is its okay. I'm looking at our plans now and trying to think of when we could use them. The problem is that it seems like we really dont need it...

I use this site to look up show times, but they're only posted about a week or so ahead of time but it still gives you a general idea of the times.

Hopefully I typed it in correctly & it's okay to list this site here :confused3

ITTBAB show inside the tree of life runs continuously so you don't have to worry about scheduling it. Last couple of times we visited there was a 5 minute wait, this in August both times. I would guess Sept. to be similar.

Try not to stress out too much about your upcoming trip  You are just on information overload & getting excited as you learn. Happens to me & I've been to WDW many times. I just get so excited, it's hard not to. You go back & forth replaying your plans in your head. In the end, it all works out ^ you end up having a wonderful time. Afterall, you're going to be with your guy celebrating your anniversary. Doesn't get much better than that no matter what you're doing :lovestruc

I love trying to take advantage of EMH"s especially the morning ones.. I feel less people go to the morning one.. So less crowds.. Last time we hit the MK MEMH and we were able to ride like 4 or 5 rides before it opened to the public. So i would suggest trying to take advantage of them

I say it's worth the call!:thumbsup2

We looked at our plans last night and have switched things around a little that we will now be using EMHs and park hoppers. I really wanted to get to the EMHs after hearing about the amount you can get done in such a short time. I was originally worried about wasting the time to switching parks, but we decided last night that we really want to try to have some downtime in the middle of the day so this new plan should work out great. One park in the morning, rest, other park in the evening. (this isnt how all our plans are but some...you will see once I get the days up) Feel free to give me your advice once you do see them. Thanks for all your help:grouphug:

Now I need to figure out the monorail system and the shortest way to travel park to park and park to resort :thumbsup2

Sounds great! I think you sound like you have a great plan!:thumbsup2 With it just being you and your DH you can do things like that for sure. You're going to love it! I can't wait to see your plans!!!:goodvibes

When it was just DH and I we loved to PH. We'd generally do the one park in the morning-go back to swim/nap when it started getting really hot and crowded in the park-and hit up another park in the evening. It got a bit harder when we started bringing DS to park-hop.
You'll be fine! Can't wait to hear the rest of the plans!

One transportation way i love to park hop is taking the boat from Hollywood Studios to Epcot and vice versa.. It takes a little bit but the ride is so worth it.. Very pretty ride and you get to see the Swan and Dolphin, Boardwalk, And Yacht and Beach Club..

Wow, it would be nice to have someone experienced with us for our first trip.. I am an avid cruiser so I know what you mean about the joy of sharing an experience you love with others. As you can tell I am very excited about our upcoming trip. Sounds like you have had some very memorable trips to Disney no wonder youre passionate about it.

The minute we began planning I knew I needed to get to MK as soon as possible. I know if we started anywhere else I would be disappointed ( I just really wanna see that castle!!! lol) Once in vacation mode I normally am just able to simmer and enjoy the trip. Until then I’m looking at our schedule several times a day and trying to get “the best” plan.

I think we will be in the hub for Spectro and Wishes. If you're going to do it might as well do it right…haha. (I say this now, but once there elbow to elbow with people I may change my mind:eek:)

I plan to do a really detailed review when I get back and I love food pics so they will be included as well.:thumbsup2

We got it all figured out now.. we will be park hopping :thumbsup2

I have yet another question for all you experts! After looking at our schedule Brian is convinced he is going to need coffee daily lol. What is the best way to purchase it? I had read about refillable mugs but I don’t want him to fill it up in the morning and have to carry it around the parks when it is empty.

Would you recommend just buying a coffee each morning? If so how much do they generally cost?

Thanks everyone. I'm going to try to get day 3 plans up tonight. :thumbsup2 (Brian is at a baseball game with coworkers, so I'm finding I have alot of time on my hands )

buy the refillable mug, so you dont have to pay for it each morning and you can use that mug for other drinks as well, then take along your own styrofoam or whatever type you can use and take with you in the park and throw away when done with them.

then just transfer the coffee from the refillable mug to your throw away mug and leave the refillable mug in your room.

:thumbsup2

We always buy the refillable mugs and get something in the morning.. We dont carry big bags by any means but once we are done with them on the way to the park or in the park we wash them out.. I have one of those sack type backpacks.. Disney one at that.. Fits 3 mugs in it nicely and i dont even know its on my back..

I can't remember if you are on the dining plan. I think you are. Unless you are planning on spending a lot of time at your resort or you are big drinkers I don't think you need the refillable mug. We usually split a CS breakfast (when we don't have breakfast plans) and with that you get 2 drinks. Also, the coffee they serve at the resorts is the Nescafe stuff and unless you don't care very much about coffee it's barely drinkable. My DH is the one who needs coffee in the morning and he either grabs one with a CS breakfast or gets one of the more edible kind from the stands in the parks.

My only other thought is the one time we did get refillable mugs (CS dining plan) they turned out to be a great souveniers that I still use at my desk at work for water! But they were a pain to carry around/wash out and we even had a stroller to put them in.

Amanda! I'm here! :goodvibes I just realized that you had a PTR going...I'm headed back to catch-up! :thumbsup2

Just wanted to let u all know that day 3 really is coming lol. I'm really trying to get more detail into it and more of a true plan. It's taking more research than the others. And to be honest eBay keeps on sneaking up and distracting me :rolleyes1 ...shame on me!! BUT in my defense it is related to Disney because I'm bidding on jewelry (to wear in Disney) and getting some AMAZING deals. Hope to have it up soon. Thanks for your patience you’re the best!!! Hope you all have a great weekend!!!
