Celebrating my 30th Birthday Disney Style! A Dec 2008 PTR w/ pics!

And I've already made a change in plans. LOL Didn't take long for me!

After reviewing San Angel Inn menu I didn't see anything that I really liked and that my BFF could change into a veggie plate so I changed our ADR's to Chefs de France (or whatever it's called). Something different to try and BFF did fo to Paris her senior year of HS so I thought that'd be fun for her.

I'm going to miss drinking a margarita in Mexico but I know I can get one from a vendor, right?? Gotta go drinking around the world afterall!! (Maybe I should have planned our trip at Food & Wine festival time LOL)

Both are good, however I like the atmoshere at San Angel. Sorry! The food portions are huge at Chefs De France. You'll enjoy it!

I know that's what I've read about the San Angel. Oh well...new place to try next time I'm not with someone so picky. LOL

Made another change. I swear this is not going to stop!!

Anyways last day we are doing an 'Ohanas breakfast and our ADR was at 8:30 and I switched it to a little later in the morning. That way I'm not feeling so rushed getting checked out of the hotel and getting things ready to leave for the morning.

I'm hoping to change a few more of my ADR times when I called as well but wasn't so lucky. Oh well, I guess I'll keep trying to call back and might be able to snag some kind of cancellation.

You can most certainly get a Margarita from the stand next to the cantina in Mexcio. YUMMY!! Your children are soo cute! Love your PTR so far!
with 2007 being as bad as it was-----going to Disney on 2008 will bring alot of MAGIC your way!!!

I have read your ptr and was surprised to read that we both have something terribly sad in common. I lost my "mom" in Oct. from Cancer as well. She passed on Oct. 24, after a very short a hard battle with Lung Cancer.

This is a tough year for you. I am glad you have something you love so much to look forward too.

We will also be at the MVMCP the same night,
and at Ohana breakfast at 930 on the same day as you!
So we may just see you there.

OK...so where did I last leave off at??? Day 3, I think??

But I did make a few changes and more will probably have to be made here in the future as well. My best friend, who is was to be coming with us, quit her job and probably not be able to make it. I know it's still 5 months away and things might work out but I don't want her strapped for cash trying to pay for a Disney trip.

But some of the changes I have made so far is to our Chef Mickey's ADR on 12/7 and made it later in the evening at 7:55. I'm actually now thinking that it too late, but oh well. And actually I'm thinking of cancelling it all together and making an ADR somewhere in Epcot for the evening. I'm not to fond of doing a buffet with 2 kids by myself and was thinking of doing Garden Grill in Epcot for dinner.

I then changed our ADR at 'Ohanas on 12/13 and made it later in the morning, I think 10:30? It'll give us a little more time to pack things up, check out and get over there.

I think that's it for now. I know I wanted to make one more of my ADR's a little earlier but forget which one. My guess is I'll have to keep calling back to see what I an get.

So, I have some thinking to do in the next week and start making out 2 sets of plans...one if best friend comes and one if she doesn't.

I just finished reading your PTR up to this point. You definitely deserve to go to WDW after all you've gone through, and celebrating a major birthday there will be fun. Be sure to have them put down on your resort and dining ressies that it's your birthday. If you haven't done that already, you can always call them back to add it in. It's so worth it. Also, be sure to get a birthday button to wear during your trip. They sometimes give them to you at the resort. If not, you can get one at City Hall in the MK or any of the other guest relations areas in the other parks. We wore anniversary buttons on our last trip, and it's great when CMs congratulate you throughout your time in the parks and you may get some extra special free surprises in some of your dining locations or out of the blue at the parks. It will definitely make your trip more exciting.

Don't worry about all the changes to your itinerary. I'm a planning freak and we change our itinerary so much, it can become laughable! We're going in December, too, but later in the month.

What a monkey wrench to your plans with your BBF! Be sure to keep your dining ressies for four people, just in case. You can always tell them when you check in that one couldn't make it. Hopefully, she'll be able to join you, but you'll be with your kids in WDW, the happiest place on Earth!!! You'll have a great time, as you already know.

And good idea about keeping the ressies for 4 people. I thought about changing them to 3 but I'm still not 100% sure she's not coming. I'm going to give her until the middle of August and then ask her. I know she's gone to a few job fairs here in our area and has a few interviews set up at places but if she gets a new job who's to say they'll allow her to take vacation time and even get the time off.

I was wanting to go to the MK on 12/7 for the evening but the park closes at 7 due to MVMCP and the parade taping is during the morning/afternoon. I figured we could head to the MK for the afternoon and then go to the Contemporary for dinner. I like my change of plans better. LOL I'm sure Epcot will be crowded for the night but oh well...it'll only be for dinner.

And I was now thinking of adding park hoppers onto our tickets as well. We had them when we went in September but didn't even use them. So I didn't get them now and am kind of thinking it'll be a good idea to have them. The additional money is what is stopping me though. LOL

Oh well I can always add them when I get there too, right?

Your changes sound good. I like the park hoppers. We will often do a park in the day, take a break sometime in the afternoon at our resort and then return to another park. Sometimes, we'll break in the middle of the day by eating lunch outside the park or going to the various resorts or to DT, and then going to another park. The break up of the day always seems less tiring. It changes things up.
