Celebrating Easter...on Saturday?

My DH and 2 boys (6 and 3 yr olds) are having Nana and Grandpa over for Easter: egg hunt and brunch. The original plan was Sunday morning (Catholic - attending Easter Vigil on Sat night), but there are predicting 70% chance of thunderstorms and really, really want to do the hunt out-of-doors.

So, I thinking of moving the festivities to Saturday morning instead. Will it be too confusing to the kids or anybody else? should I really care LOL. Haven't broached it yet with the in-laws.

On the bright side, it might allow the kids to differentiate the 'holy' day from the 'holiday' of Easter.

What'cha think?

We do Easter both days just to accommodate family and it works well. We alternate years on where we are on Easter day, but one day is with my family and one day is with DHs family. We still always do church on Easter morning, but do spend alot of time focusing on family and it seems to work out fine.

Dh and I are raising a blended family so our holidays are shared with dh's ex, and we also have my family out of state in 2 different directions...plus my BIL is an airline pilot so he has to work some holidays and dh and I are in public safety (mostly don't work holidays anymore but that's a recent change)...long story long...we celebrate when we're all together, no matter what day the calendar says it is.

I think that because families are so spread out and complicated (for lack of a better word) anymore that pretty much anything goes, as long as it works for your family.

We're trying to figure things out here, too. Both my parents and DH's parents are divorced, his brother and their family is in Germany, my mom lives 2 hours away, and my dad is 11 hours away! I feel your pain! And then we have a family who kind of 'adopted' us (actually my FIL's ex girlfriend and her daughter!) and we want to spend some time with them on Easter too! It'll drive ya crazy just trying to please everyone.
