I just decided on dates for my October trip to WDW - we are going to be there from October 19th through the 27th and my DS 5 asked me if we can celebrate his birthday there. My problem is that his birthday is on September 11th and we usually have a party for him then and then a small family thing on November 30th which is the day he came home from the NICU (he was a 28 weeker). The coming home party is more cake with dinner and is more a private celebration for me and DH but it apparently makes him think is birthday lasts a really long time :rotfl2: .

So the question is - is it acceptable to get him the birthday button, tell Chef Mickey's it's his birthday dinner, etc when it was a month earlier? I wouldn't even think of it except he asked. My other alternative is to buy a birthday cake and celebrate that way with any additional fanfare.

What do you all think?

Yes!! Do it!! At his age, it would be a great gift/memory for him!! You would be CELEBRATING his birthday. I am sure many people do this as it is not always easy to be at WDW exactly on the day. If you are doing it to get something "free", I would discourage it.

Celebrate whenever you want to. :) Realize, though, that everyone and their mother has a button of some sort at WDW these days. They aren't quite as special as they used to be.

My family is leaving in 11 days and we are celebrating 2 birthdays, neither of which are in the month of March. They are for 2 different nieces and we are celebrating them on the same day. I'm not sure if they are getting the birthday buttons or not, though.

When we go down we're planning to celebrate my friend's b-day even though its a week after we get back. Go for it!

Thanks - I guess I worry too much:goodvibes I'll celebrate his birthday at Disney and he'll have the time of his life especially since he likes to talk to everyone.

We are going to be celebrating our DS 1st birthday there. It'll be a little late, 3 weeks, but that is when we aare doing it. Plus my DH is have his birthday there too! It'll actually be his while we are there! One question, what are birthday buttons and where can I get them?
