My dad will be celebrating his 59th when we're at WDW and naturally, he gets to pick where he wants to eat. But the man can't make a decision to save his life, so he's narrowed it down to a few options & told me to pick what I'd think is best.

I'd love you guys' input!

Option 1: Teppen Edo... we all love the food & the variety, and it would be good for DD but we've got a restaurant JUST like it w/in walking distance from our house & eat there frequently

Option 2: Le Cellier... I know it gets GREAT reviews, however half of our group doesn't eat red meat or meat at ALL and I'm not sure how toddler friendly it is. Would it be possible for adults to order from the kid's menu??? (I'm asking that seriously, lol!!!) I do think this is my dad's #1 choice though.

Option 3: Rose & Crown... I haven't really heard anything about this restaurant either way.

Option 4: A non-character breakfast and Wishes dessert party. Dad LOVES breakfast, especially buffets where you can have your own omelet made. He doesn't want to do a character breakfast though. I've heard GREAT things about Boma but I'm worried about how difficult it would be to get to from POFQ.

Le Cellier!!

I don't like red meat either and got the bbq chicken. And for the little ones, ask for a Canadian Shirley Temple.

If it's only no red meat your group should still have lots of options: nearly all TS menus list a chicken entree, a pork entree, and 1 or more fish entrees, as well as the single vegetarian entree.

That said, Le Cellier is now 2 TS / high $$ oop for dinner with a new menu so it might not work as well.

Really, I think the breakfast buffet and Wishes Dessert Party might be the most fun; you would literally be celebrating his birthday the entire day. I have also heard good things about Boma's breakfast and we are planning to go for the first time this May. I don't think transport is "difficult" - take a bus to one of the parks, transfer there to a bus to AKL. If it's a really early ADR, take the bus to whichever park has early morning EMH since they all start an hour or more before park open. The only drawback is that it will take a chunk of time to do; you're not going to make rope drop anywhere that day. But it might work nicely on a morning when you are going to sleep in, have a later breakfast, tour the AKL, maybe go from there to a water park or DTD, and just go to the MK late in the day as the early birds are running out of steam and leaving. Have a good-sized late lunch and the Dessert Party makes a totally sinful dinner (hey, for his birthday he's entitled, right?).

Teppan Edo - we have not eaten there (yet) but I think it is because we have a similar restaurant nearby home

Le Cellier - we love Le Cellier, but have not been there when we've had vegetarians w/ us. I think all restaurants have at least 1 vegetarian entree (check menus online). There is always cheddar cheese soup :lovestruc and a salad

Rose & Crown - DH & I really enjoy R&C. Good food, service and location. Maybe you can make a late ADR (7:30ish?) and request/wait for an outdoor patio table and watch Illuminations from the restaurant

Breakfast and dessert party - sounds like a fun idea. Depending on how early you are looking to have breakfast, I might suggest taking a taxi from your resort (if you try Boma)

I'm sure any of these will be great. What fits best into your park plan?
Have fun!

a great buffet and you have options for more traditional to a little exotic offerings. Another fun breakfast thing is the House of Blues Gospel brunch which of course is served on Sunday. The earlier one would qualify as a late breakfast.

I have the same issue with Teppan Edo - good but not significantly different than three or four local places.

I don't know how Le Cellier is for kids now. It was fine before. You really have two non red meat choices, the salmon or the quiche. I suppose you could get the cod and not eat the ravioli but that seems a waste (to someone who likes oxtail stew).

Thanks for all the input!

I think I've narrowed it down to Le Cellier or the breakfast/Wishes combo. I really think Le Cellier is his #1 dinner pick & it's his birthday, so my mom and I will just suck it up and eat salad & a veg appetizer (the only meat I eat is chicken & the chicken entree just doesn't sound too appealing).

I haven't heard anything about the breakfast buffet at the Dolphin... what's the consensus: Boma or Fresh Mediterranean Market??

More thank anything else, I think it'll depend on what the park hours are, unfortunately. If there's Wishes the night of dad's birthday, I think we'll go that way.
