My DD just celebrated her 16th Birthday and my DH's birthday will occur during our trip. I wanted them to be recognized at some of our reserved meals. I used to call and let them know when I made reservations but now everything is done online. We are hopefully skipping the front desk at the hotel but I guess we can get bday buttons later. What is the easiest way to let the restaurant know?

TIA!! :goodvibes

where the button, let them know when you check in... however that does not mean they will do anything. If you want something special and will be disappointed if nothing happens you can buy a cake by calling a few days before.

Get a button at the resort or park and wear them. You can mention it at the podium when checking in for your reservation too. But like pp said don't get your hopes up too high as they don't always do more than wish you a Happy Birthday. I've had family spend a week at Disney with their birthday button and never get more than a Happy Birthday and then once I was there with my sister for just one day and she got a free desert and a free ice cream cone. If you know you absolutely want something special, plan for it by ordering a cake or some other sort of surprise.

It is never guaranteed that they will even recognize your celebration. There are hundreds if not thousands of folks celebrating something everyday at Disney. That is why they removed the celebration notice. They found they couldn't keep up with folks expectations.
I agree with the others, it is best to order a cake yourself.

As others said, if you want a guaranteed celebration, best to take care of that yourself. BUT - you can call the WDW-DINE number and have it noted on your dining reservation. I did for my birthday, only intending to note it for one meal but they went ahead and made the note at every meal. Sometimes it was mentioned, sometimes it wasn't. It was always a surprise when it was and I definitely didn't go in expecting it in any way. But to answer your question, yes, you can call and have it noted and keep your fingers crossed! Have a great trip!

Thanks everyone!! Can't wait to be there next week!!!! :jumping1:
