Celebrating 5th Birthday @ Disney

We will be celebrating our son's 5th birthday at Disney this year. i think we will be at MK for the day and thinking of booking Chef Mickey's for dinner. What are some tips/ideas for making his day extra magical? I think this is the day that the Christmas Parade is going to be taping, do you think this is something we should look into or avoid? Do I need to purchase a birthday pin or do they give me one when we check in for his actual day?

If you go to Guest Relations at the bottom of Main St they will give him a Birthday pin there!!! He will get lots of good wishes all over the place!!!
