Celebrating 20 Year Anniversary...Need Opinions Please

I guess I should rephrase my post...I don't mind a queen bed as long as there is only ONE queen bed. I just think it's such a nuisance to have an extra bed in a room. I would be fine with a pull out couch but the extra bed drives me nuts!

I have never heard of a Disney resort room with only one Queen bed. There are some rooms with 1 King.
That said, the newly refurbished rooms at POP Century have one Queen bed and a second Queen Murphy Bed, If you didn't pull down the Murphy bed there is only one.
Disney's target demographic is families. Their rooms are designed for more than 2 people, with more than 1 bed.

I understand what the usual demographic is of Disney...A lot of the Villas have what I am looking for though. The sleeper sofa is fine because it's also a sofa. Perfect to sit on :)

The studios at the Villas at the Polynesian is one example:

Deluxe Studio - Standard View

1 Queen-Size Sleeper Sofa and 1 Queen Bed and 1 Twin-Size pull-down bed

Also, the Boardwalk Villas...

1 Bedroom Villa - Standard View

1 King Bed and 1 Queen-Size Sleeper Sofa

Another vote for the Swan. Request a resort view room with a king bed. (Tip: Click a Swan/Dolphin ad on this site.)

You won't be able to take the Magical Express or the Disney Dining Plan, but you'll receive all the other advantages of staying on site.

We went just the two of us this year and stayed POFQ. It was AWESOME!

But in april we are going again, this time for our 20th and are staying at Beach Club in a studio. Very excited! A couples trip is so much better than a full family trip! Lol

ALL DVC Studio Villa's, except OKW, have 1 Queen bed and a sleeper sofa. All 1 BR and larger Villas have 1 King and a Queen sleeper. Your original post asked about rooms, and specifically rooms with King beds.
We love the Studios for a couple. I love having the sofa to sit on during the day. It also gives you more floor space to move around in.
The Studios will also have a kitchenette.
Since they are timeshare resorts, if you book through Disney on cash, which is generally more expensive than regular rooms, you receive all hotel like services. If, however, you rent DVC point through either an owner or a broker, you will not receive daily housekeeping, clean towels or replenished supplies. Renting is also a commitment which you can not usually change. You can not cancel for a refund, if something comes up. You also need to be booking between 7 and 11 months in advance to possibly get the Villa you would like. At this point, demand far exceeds supply
Good Luck

I would look into renting points and staying in a DVC room, that makes it cheaper! Not all of my suggestions are DVC and I don't know prices off the top of my head, just tossing ideas out there. :) If it was my husband & I would go for Poly (but only because I really want to stay there and it's on the monorail), GF (because it's quite fancy and the rooms look beautiful, and it's on the monorail), Beach or Yacht Club (nice rooms, great pool, you can walk to Epcot or the boardwalk), or Port Orleans (RS or FQ are both beautiful, and you can use either pool, the rooms are big and beautiful, and you can do the carriage rides around the resort). You could also save some money by staying off site if you want, because there are also some beautiful off site resorts!

We celebrated our 21st anniversary last summer at the BWI. DH & I splurged (for us anyway) on a boardwalk view & it was awesome! We had a larger than usual balcony & sat out there every day just taking it all in. The access to Epcot can't be beat & there are so may dining/drinking options in that area that we barely hit the same place twice. Trying to convince DH to go again for our anniversary next summer but it isn't looking likely dang it!! Good luck with your decision, enjoy!

I think the Grand Floridian is the most romantic hotel on property. Beautiful flower gardens, that old Victorian style, the beauty of the grand lobby, the way it smells, just the atmosphere of the whole place...makes it feel so romantic.
