Cedar Point? One day or two

While you're in the area, you might want to check out Oberlin College. It's about a half hour from CP.

He is interested in Computer Science and has a very specific list of schools- but I think we might check it out anyway- I have 3 other children that will have to go to college! Thanks for that tip.

In order: Lighthouse Point lakefront (some are not lakefront), Sandcastle Suites, then Breakers. Breakers is old, they've remodeled, but it's still a 100 year old property.

Lighthouse point is the one I was looking at- it seems to book up pretty early in the season.

Does Lighthouse Point have access to the beach? Same for Sandcastle. We might build in a day to just play in the sand :goodvibes

I also vote for 2 days. Why not visit a Cleveland college while you are here like Case Western Reserve?

:thumbsup2 Thanks for mentioning it. DS is planning on a very specific Computer Science major- I'm going to check to see if they have it as an option.

His list is so specific at this point. I honestly don't think he is going to like the size of Purdue- but we won't know until we get there.

Thanks I was thinking they looked the best idea but it's nice to get an opinion from someone who's been there.

We've stayed at Sandcastle suites twice. One side of it has a sand beach (no swimming here) -- if you walk further down the path toward the Breakers they have a really nice beach with lifeguards & swimming. We usually spend part of the day at the beach relaxing. (Usually the day we arrive if we don't get twilight passes)

Case has a great computer science program. Just about every program at Case is very good. Oberlin has a computer science department but I don't think it is as good as either Case or Ohio State's, especially for what their tuition costs.

Is Carnegie Mellon on his list? In my opinion (my degree is a BBA in Information Systems) they are the best university for any computer degree outside of MIT unless his field is extremely specific.

At $60,000 a year it's not on my list!:rotfl2:
However maybe we'll try to check it out on the trip out. Thanks

I hear you. I had to work a full time job to pay my way through college and didn't want to take out any loans so as much as I would have liked to go there it was not in the cards.

Oberlin and Case will be pretty close to $50K for an out of state student with housing. In Ohio his best degree for the money will be Ohio State at about $35K/year. I'm not sure if that is on his list or not.

The one's on his list are Purdue, Wentworth*never had heard of that one, Drexel(too expensive for my liking). University of Scranton and College of Charleston*based on meeting them at a college fair, the dean of admissions and head of the computer department have been emailing with him.

The list is fluid though and could change at any moment. Good for you for working your way through college!

We usually do 1.5 days.

Half a day at the water park and then the next day we spend at the park :)
