New: a previous Canadian passport may be used as supporting identification provided that all of the following conditions are met:
* the passport is still valid or submitted up to one year after its expiry date;
* the passport is submitted with the application form. Photocopies will not be accepted; and
* the name indicated in the passport is the same as the one on the application form.
Thought you'd like to know ...I've always thought it was a tad outrageous that the Cdn govt wouldn't recognize our own citizenship documents as proof for application of the same document
