CD offers ... non secured sites?

Well, I started looking into the better paying offers and noticed that with the 2 I got to the point where it asked for CC info, the sites aren't secure! I was considering using a CC that is paid off so that I could track when refunds were given, etc. since you can't really do that with the visa gift cards.

Now I'm kinda at an impass. I can't get the piddly surveys to credit at all, on either CD or SR, the only reason I have more that $3 on SR is because of the $2 I got for signing up. Looks like there's really no way to use a CC and I haven't been able to get to the bank for a gift card.

Any advice? I'm really frustrated and am pretty close to just giving up!

Check out the forums on both CD and SR on what is crediting and tips/tricks to getting things to credit.

Are you clearing your cookies? Running spy ware and ad ware regularly?

yes, I am clearing cookies and running spyware.

I'm mostly concerned though about the fact that I would be entering information on unsecured sites - whether using a CC # or a visa gift card # ... and all of these offers - both on CD and on SR do not seem to have any sort of additonal security like normal sites would (e.g. the padlock in the bottom right corner of your browser)

hmm see I don't do a lot of cc offers so I am not really paying attention to that. I don't think all of them would be unsecure but who knows. Maybe post a few that you are wanting to do and see if anyone might be able to help that way.

so do you primarily do the free surveys then? It just seems like you can't really get much $ that way, but maybe I'm underestimating it!

well i made $100 on SR with free signups since April. It definetly can be done. I think it just takes some percistence (sp??) and knowing you can only do a few a day so that your cookies can credit you and you don't clear them too early. I also average $40 a month on Treasure Trooper doing freebies. I think it depends on your expectations from these sites. If you want to make in the thousands you will have to do the paid sign ups. If you just want a few hundred for your trip then the freebies will do it.
