CD Burner that doesn't burn

My brother recently got a cd burner for his birthday and we can't seem to figure it out. It came with no directions and no phone number to call. Does anybody have a TDK VeloCD 5200UE? Or any help would be great.

Was it brand new? Its seems like a nice burner. You can get to the web site here. It's made by TDK.

what operating system are you running?
Do you have it on a cable by itself or with another CD burner or hard drive?
