.... In early december 2022

We own at Riviera and are looking ahead to 2022 trip in early december (sometime in those first two weeks) - planning to book a 2BR at Riviera at 11 months - but would have points to move over to a CCV Cabin which would be a really unique and fun thing to do - knowing this is a pretty popular time of year, especially at WL - would there even be a shot at availability?

Thanks!

Many times of year, cabins are available beyond 7 months out. However, the time you want, early Dec, is the highest DVC demand time of the year at WDW, and being able to get anything at 7 months out, including cabins, will likely be a challenge, e.g., before May 1, 2021, cabins were already filled for 6 of the first 7 niights of the first week of Dec 2021.

In 2017, I got a Friday and a Saturday night in a cabin. December 1 and 2. It was a great experience.

Good luck! The cabins are absolutely lovely, and I can't wait to go back. We stayed the first week of January and booked some nights with CCV points, and the rest right at 7 months with other points.

The weather will be perfect for the hot tub on the patio :)

We were originally planning to try for the cabin this coming Dec, but changed our plans to Oct and were able to get a week at 7 months with walking which I believe helped us since those days went fast too. I would still check for an available cabin for the originally dates of Dec 5-11 just for fun. At 7 months there was maybe a day here or there in that range, but a week was never available, and those available days went quickly. The only reason we tried for the cabin was because of the covid surplus use them or lose them, so you might have better luck next year. I think a day would be possible but not a full week.
