CCI vs Grand Legacy

My first solo trip is coming up in about 7 weeks. I have been booked at Candy Cane Inn for months now- just a standard room. I liked the free breakfast option and the shuttle if I don't feel like walking alone on Harbor at night.

I just saw great rates at Grand Legacy. I am very tempted to make the switch but I would like to get the thoughts of those who have stayed at both. Normally we stay at the Tropicana when I'm with my husband and kids so I have no experience at either hotel/motels.

I haven't yet stayed at the GL, but love the CCI. As you said, the free breakfast and the private shuttle (runs on time, drivers are friendly) work out well. (If the budget allows, premium rooms have breakfast delivered to your room -- nice!) The rooms are clean, the customer service is great, having the ABC Mart right next door is convenient (and the 7-11 right next to that). I've heard good things about the GL, especially when the rates are low. But we are fans of the CCI.

We've always stayed at the CCI, but your question sparked my curiosity. I'm willing to try something new, but am also a creature of habit.

We're headed to the parks 4/17-4/21, we got a rate of $126 per night at CCI for the standard 2 queen room. As you know it includes free wifi, free parking and a decent free breakfast, and a free dedicated direct shuttle. The rooms are clean (if a little dated) and the pool is nice.

The cheapest rates I could find for the GL for the same timeframe was $117 a night for a comparable 2 queen room (AP discount) or $119 a night (AAA). So a savings of $32 for my four night stay. BUT parking is $12 per night and an added 17% tax on parking so an additional $56.16 for me. They also don't have a free breakfast, instead having A snack bag. For My family of 4, the cost of even an inexspensive breakfast makes the CCI a better choice for us. But for you as a solo traveler that would be a much smaller impact.
On the plus side, the GL is closer and the rooms looks recently updated.
