I'd like to link a cc to our magicbands but pay that off with a giftcard. What is the limit at the Fort before they charge the cc they have on file? Is it $500 or $1000?

I just have to go to the front desk (outpost?) before I reach that limit and pay the balance with a giftcard correct?

I have a lot of $50 giftcards from Target and I'm not sure what's the best way to use them. We have a number of ADRs, is there a way to put some of the giftcards on our magicbands ahead of time? I'm thinking that would be better than carrying around a lot of giftcards or running to the front desk a lot.

The default charge limit with a CC attached to your magic band or KTTW card is 1000. I know you can pay it before the end of your stay and have done that with other means (use the CC to auth it but paid out of my checking account.) I have never tried to pay using gift cards, I would recommend calling and asking or stopping by the front desk with that question.

. . . The Fort is classified as a Moderate Resort
. . . thus, the room charging limit is $1,000

. . . yes
. . . it might be easier to have them erase the credit card from the file
. . . then, have the gift cards applied to the file
. . . this is exactly the same as putting down cash for room charging
. . . when about to run out of gift cards, apply a credit card or give them cash

. . . just give them to the Front Desk
. . . as mentioned this is a cash payment on your room "folio" *

* For FYI reference, the hotel name for your room file is "FOLIO", This comes from the old days when your bills
were kept in a folder or folio until you checked-out. Just like the term RACK RATE is old. The pigeon holes behind
the desk held your room keys. This the The Rack. Hench, when they pulled your new room & key, you paid The
Rack Rate, which is the highest price for that day for that room. (The only hotel at WDW with a ROOM KEY RACK
is the Grand Floridian, which is a throw-back to the old days.)

Thank you for the great answers! I just love knowing how things work ahead of time (hence my love of DisBoards!) :goodvibes

I kept my credit card info on my keycard but had them add my Disney gift cards used as cash towards my bill. They could do this at the Outpost desk or at the concierge window at Pioneer hall.
