CC needed for ADR's on DP?

I was browsing the boards and saw a post that made me question my ADRs. I've never done this online before. I don't hear we'll so it was nice to be able to do it myself. All of the ADRs I made today, asked me for a CC. I didn't think anything of it. Figured it was simply to hold my ADR. It clearly stated that I was linked to DP and that I could click to unlink.

I read in a postthat the CC would be charged in advance unless I was linked to DP in which case I wouldn't need a CC. Anyone have an idea if this is correct.

The dining plan is relevant ONLY if you are talking about prepaid reservations (CRT or the three dinner shows). If you have a dining plan on your room reservation, and you provide the room reservation number to the Disney resort reservation system either online or via phone while booking, you would not need to prepay for these four restaurants - just leave a credit card guarantee. But you will still need a credit card for the guarantee.

There is a list of nineteen restaurants that will always require a credit card guarantee, dining plan or no dining plan. This is to ensure that the party will show up, or cancel the reservation by at least the day before if they plan to skip it. This cuts down on guests making reservations for popular restaurants, then not showing up. You can find that list and the cancellation policies here:

Again, the credit card hold policy applies at these restaurants whether or not the guest is on a dining plan. There is no need to link these reservations to a dining plan.

Thank you so much! All of the ones that asked for a cc were on the list of 19! I was afraid I had paid for most of our meals on a CC!
