I'm so sorry, I'm sure this is discussed somewhere but I'm just toast today and my brain can't figure it out and I make ADRs tomorrow. I've never been to WDW or done ADRs before but I will go online in the morning and book my things. How does Hoop and Luau work? Is my card deducted full amount right away or a portion or just held on there?
Thanks a bunch:)

Your credit card will be charged the full amount at the time of booking. When you check into your resort you will go to Guest Services desk and have them print out your ticket to bring with you to dinner. If for some reason you are unable to make it you have 48 hours to cancel to receive a refund.

Have fun, we loved that show.

I forgot about the Dining Plan. Your credit card will only be used to hold the reservation but won't be charged. We haven't used it the last few times we've been to Disney.

If you have the Dining Plan, you shouldn't be charged at all unless you don't show and don't cancel your reservation. If you're paying OOP for these shows, then yes, you're charged in full when you make the ressie.

Thanks for the help guys!
yes, we are doing OOP versus dining plan. I like the idea of getting ticket from customer service desk to take to the show showing we paid in full already. ;)
The dining plan doesn't work great w/ our family thanks to 2 picky, chicken nugget only "adults". Well, they are 10 and 14 year olds but it's hard to do dining plan paying adult prices for them.
BUT....if for any reason we decide to switch to the dining plan as our trip gets closer, how would that work since I've already charged 2 dinner shows to card? Do they credit my card back?

Yes, if you add the dining plan, call the dining reservation line and let them know. It may take a week or so but you should get a refund to your card.

Have a fantastic trip! :)
