Does anyone have pictures of the BIG Toothed fish that lives by the sunken submarine in the snorkel lagoon on CC?

All my shots seemed to miss its mouth.

It is very impressive when it followed me for about a 100 yards!

NO

I did see the barracuda at the adult beach out near the red bouy.

This one is big and fat not long and slender. It had big lips and pencil like teeth.

I do have some good pics of it, that I need to scan in sometime, took them with a waterproof disposable. I think the fish is a "grouper". It sure is big and ugly. :earseek:

Here's the link to my on-line Disney cruise pictures. I have one shot of that big fish, but you can't see the teeth very well. He was tucked under the submarine. We did swim down for a close up view and he does have some pretty big teeth.

How big are we talking about here, and does it swim near you whilst snorkelling? In the pic its difficult to tell.
I was going to try snorkelling but I really dont like fish near me! If it touched me I think I'd freak.

I'm nearly positive he is a grouper and I've seen a similar fish in the Living Seas tank. I would guesstimate that he was probably between 3-4 feet in length and maybe 100lbs. It's a big fish. The only pictures that I have seen are with him sort of hiding under the submarine. Even when we dove down for a closer look, he stayed under there.

Last January there was a barracuda that hung out above the sub. A guy near me had a bag of bread he was using to feed other fish. He had his back to the cuda, and little did he know it swam up to within 3 feet of him, watched as he fed the other fish, then moved off...

That barracuda was still there during our Halloween cruise. He was hanging around the Mickey statue. My 10YO granddaughter immediately headed for shore when we saw him.

There is a barricuda at the adult beach. My DH and I were there on Saturday and he was snorkeling and took a few pictures of it. Then a few seconds later it went after a woman walking through the water nearby and bit her finger!!!! She had a big gold ring on that had attracted it. My DH (a firefighter/EMT) helped her out of the water and to first aid. It had hit an artery and she needed 14 stitches. Be warned- don't wear shiny objects in the water!!!

I had taken a bag of potatoe chips from cookies out with me toward the sub.

I hid them under my rashguard until I got past the second set of pots.
When I pulled it out the small fish swarmed me. They recognized the bag.
The grouper showed up after I opened it up near the sub. He must have sensed the oils as I swam towards shore.

Bfosbenner,

Last week we were finishing a day in Cozumel!!! I did some searching on Google. It looks like the fish we saw that followed you was a grouper.

Folks beware, you might not think there's many fish in CC bay, but pull out a bit of food and you will be swarmed. I don't know where they all came from...uhhh the water.. LOL? :)

Seriously, there were probably 75 - 100 fish out of nowhere within a minute swimming close enough it was uncomfortable.
