CC being charged in advance for CRT & others

I think I had three reservations that took my CC#
Cinderealla's Royal Table, Akershus and Citrico's, Cali Grill or Narcoossee's not sure which

In making the last one, for CRT, I think i read it is going to chrage my card NOW for this meal. That would not be good as we are on the Dining Plan and have already paid once for the meal. Then would be the issue of how do they give you the money back? Especially since we change cards depending on our needs (last yr southwest visa, this yr Disney Visa)

Call Disney dining to make your CRT ressie. Let them know you are on the DDP and they will not charge your CC. They will still ask for it so they can hold the table and just in case you are a no show, then they will charge the CC. As for Narcoossee's, Akershus, CG, and Citricos....they only ask for your CC and will not charge your account, they too will only charge you if you are a no show. Have a great time.

If you attach your resort reservation when you make your ADR online you shouldn't get charged as it will be able to tell you are on the DDP. If that doesn't work and it still wants to charge you call in and book.

If you have already gone ahead and booked the ADR you have two options. Cancel the reservation and have them credit your CC now, and hope they will have another reservation available or Go to the ADR and tell them when you check in that you have the DDP and want to use your credits but have already paid with a CC at time of booking.

Now I'm wondering if I have done this in the past and paid twice?? Would they know if my CC was being charged if I paid on the DDP???

Once you arrive at CRT you would either not be paying anything because you prepaid already, or you would be paying with DDP credits. Because you can't pay with DDP credits until you arrive, they would refund anything you've already paid once you said you wanted to switch your payment to DDP credits. If you stated to the server that you intended to pay with DDP they'd do a refund if you already had a prepayment on record.
You never pay for a meal with dining credits until you get to a restaurant.

Always be careful booking a prepaid reservation online. First of all, if you have a dining plan already attached to your resort reservation, you have to input your resort reservation so the system has a chance to recognize that you have a dining plan. If it still wants to charge you in full, you will probably have to make the reservation by phone and speak to a human to avoid the prepayment.

Akershus and California Grill are credit-card hold restaurants. Those will not charge you unless you don't cancel and don't show up.
