Our family ( DH, DW, DS8) would like to split out stay. We are staying at the CSR, but would like to experience someplace else also.We are looking at the CBR as the place to spend the second half of our stay. I was told by the disney reservationist that the "Trinida north" area was completely renovated,( she called the CBR directly and "Trinidan north" was given as best choice of areas to stay in, which sounds great to me, but is it the most practical area to stay in at CBR?
I'm taking into consideration being close to food area, transportation and pools.

Any opinions on this ?

Trinidad North is one of the closest to the food court and main pool. Each location has a quiet pool as well. As far as the bus situation, I believe that you will be one of the first picked up...probably the third stop in the complex and vice/versa on the return.

We've stayed in Jamaica and Aruba and never minded the 5 minute walk to the
food court. We are also the adventurous types and walk to Epcot, via the Boardwalk, Hess Station....... I would not recommend it for a family.

I'm probably going to be the minority here, but I hated the Caribbean Beach. I wanted to check out the same day I checked in. Found this resort way too spread out for my taste and check-in was a nightmare. Also did not care to be walking across a dimly lit parking lot to get to and from my room from the bus stop.

I'd recommend staying at the French Quarter. This resort is great, it's small, so it's quick to get everywhere. Also, there's a boat to DTD.

Wow. Talk about "breaking it to me gently"! Not even a hesitation. Sorry to hear about it. I hope our stay turns out better.

I on the other hand love the CBR. I stay there everytime I go to WDW. I love the walks and the quiet pools. You don't have the feeling of being crammed into this major hotel. I stayed at POFQ and did not like it. Everything was too close and they only had one pool. I love being able to get away from the big crowds and relax a little.

To each his own.

We've stayed most recently (Sept 04) at CSR and twice at CBR (May 93 and Sept 00). We stayed in Cabanas at CSR (very similar style and theming to CBR), right by the big pool and both Jamaica and Aruba at CBR. Loved both resorts although my parents visited CBR while on our latest trip and said it had gone "downhill" since our last visit. The walking won't be an issue at CBR if you're coming from CSR...lots of walking there. We really enjoyed the morning walks from Jamaica over to the island and then on to breakfast. At CSR the walking would have been nice except the heat and humidity nearly killed us at 7am!! Love the quiet pools at both resorts, but loved the big pools too! Your son will love the slide at CSR!

So, to answer your question, I don't think there's any loss of practicality at CBR in any of the buildings as you will be used to the walking from CSR, but we really loved Jamaica.

Trinidad North is a preferred location costing extra nightly. It is very close to the main pool and food court.

You will have a wonderful time at CBR. The whole resort was renovated at the end of 2001.

Thanks safety mom

In regards to the lake water and the " Encephylitas", what is the difference between the lake water and the water at the "beach". at CBR?

Thanks
