CBR - Which Building?

First off, you guys are great in here and I've learned a lot for my first trip down to Disney.

Question if you don't mind:

We're going down to the CBR this week and I requested Jamaica as it's not too close to the food court and it seems to be right across the bridge which is nice.

I want to make sure that we're in a building that is close to the beach with a water view that is of the lake and not the pool. In looking at the CBR map, buildings 45 and 42 seem to be closer to the beach than building 44.

Do any of you have experience with the layout of Jamaica who could offer advice as to which building to request?

Hi there!

If you want to be close to the bridge over to OPR and close to the beach then you'd want to request Jamaica building 45. There are parts of 44 that would be close to the beach, but it would depend on which room you were assigned, and those rooms could overlook the pool as opposed to the lake. 42 is close to the beach but a bit more of a walk to the bridge. If you want a view of the lake and not pool, your best bed would be to request 45. If you don't mind more of a walk, then 42 would be good also.

When you check in, ask what water your room views and let them know you'd like to see the lake rather than the pool. They really do try their best to accomodate requests.

By the way, don't forget the other areas of CBR that would offer a wonderful lake view while being close to OPR, too

One more question if you don't mind.....

I've got a portable DVD player that I could bring if the TV had jacks to plug it into. Would be nice to play "Toy Story", "Bugs Life", "Shrek" and others for the kids during the evening.

Any idea if the TV's in the rooms have input jacks on the front or rear for this purpose?
