CBR v. POFQ

DH and I will be traveling in June to WDW with our two kids ages 3 and 11. We normally stay at the Polynesian, but this year, it just isn't in the budget (sniff sniff)

We have stayed at POR and CSR previously and were looking to try something new this year. Which resort do you think is better with the kids with the pool being the first priority. I really like the tropical look of CBR, but am concerned about how spread out it is. Port Orleans French Quarter looks nice, but it doesn't seem to have the same "flare" as CBR. In the end, I am sure we would be happy at either resort.... any opinions. Thanks!!!!

I have not stayed at PO but we have stayed at CBR and CSR and loved those. We requested more distant sections at both for the romantic factor (Jamaica at CBR and Ranchos at CSR).
In my opinion, Martinique, Trinidad North and also Jamaica, a jump over the lake are all quite close to everything at CBR. CSR is definitely more spread out than CBR is. I'd give it a try!

French Quarter. My kids are 4 and 7. They love the pool. The resort theme is great. It's smaller than CBR which is what we like about it. We also like the access to DD via the water taxi on the Sasagoula River. They used to have a sit down restraurant, but now they only have the food court. That is one thing I miss there. If you like table service for your meals, you can go over to POR. It is within walking distance or a water taxi will get you there.

We have stayed at both and much prefer French Quarter. CBR was way too spread out and it just really did not appeal to us. We loved the atmosphere, the food court, the rooms and everything else about French Quarter. Everything is within a 3 - 4 minute walk which will probably come in handy at the end of a veeeerrrryy loooooooong day at the parks.
