Help. Should I book CBR (again) or try Boardwalk. I should also say we LOVE CBR. I just don't know if I can justify the extra $1,000 to say stay Boardwalk. Help, what should I do.

:confused3

Well I cant tell you about the Boardwalk, we have actually stayed @ CBR 4x before and this Nov trip trying Boardwalk Villa's. I do hear its a great hotel with lots of family activties. if money is an issue I would stay with what you know and where you like, we LOVE CBR. Not sure when you go but if its after us I can let you know how Boardwalk was. :thumbsup2

I would base the decision on how much time you think you'll spend at the resort. If you plan to use the resort's amenities and plan to go to EPCOT & DHS a lot, then I say BW. It's a beautiful resort in a terrific location.

If you are going to spend most of the time at the parks, I would stay at CBR and save the $1,000 for something else.

Little more info: we have stayed at CBR (6x) this would be 7, when I find something I usually stick with it. I always say lets stay at Boardwalk just to be able to walk to Epcot (fav park) and DH, but wasn't sure if $1000- justified it just walking to Epcot. We are park people with usually a break after lunch to regroup at room but back at park by 5:00 until close so only sleeping and napping at room.

I think I am talking myself into Boardwalk, lol would love to hear if anyone else has had the same prob. Thanks for updates and help, now I guess it hinges on if we are still doing split stay at HRH and then Disney.

Thanks.

Have you considering renting points ? You need to book in advance, no refunds / changes but you can get an AMAZING deal on a Deluxe resort. I booked BWV for January for less than a MOD.. CSR would have been $150 more for three nights than BWV... So no housekeeping or changes / cancellations... For me it was worth the large discount to stay in a hotel / area I really wanted to try.

If you've never stayed there, I would say give it a try. I've stayed there twice and staying there is all about the theming, the cool things and acts they have on the boardwalk, being with walking distance of Epcot and boat distance of HS.

I agree ... if the resort and it's ammenities isnt a major part of you vacation experience then I'd recommend sticking with CBR. If the resort experience is important (It is for us), then BWI would be an excellent choice (I prefer BC/YC). Have you considered a split stay between the two?

It's really a budget decision.

The easy answer is BW. Location, amenities, and dining are all better at BW.

However, it's not really just $1000 more IMO. Your food will cost more also.

My advice is, if it isn't financially tight for you to do it, go for BW. If it's gonna affect the finances in a negative way, stay with what you know you already love.

I have stayed at both and to me BW while wonderful would only be worth $1000 more if we planned to spend over half our days and nights at Epcot.

Cbr to all other areas, including DHS, in our experience was quicker.

CBR wins for cs options at your resort, BW hands down wins for ts since you have the Boardwalk area, bc, yc, and the World Showcase.

I like BW's main pool but missed all the quiet pools, beaches and grounds at cbr.

Bw rooms are for sure nicer, but we also find cbr rooms to work great.

Agreed! We booked the BCV for our upcoming January trip for the same price as a (rack rate) mod.

I say BWV all the way. Better location, better restaurants, better atmosphere. :thumbsup2

I always like trying new resorts in WDW but it depends on how much time you will be using the resorts amenities.

Enjoy wherever you stay!!

I would go with the BWV if you can. Like the PP's have said, if you rent points BWV will probably end up costing the same as CBR if not less, depending on how many points you need. You will love the fact that you can walk to HS and Epcot and not have to deal with the buses. We love BCV and BWV for that reason. It adds a lot more time into your day at the parks that you would have to spend waiting around for buses to/from CBR. Also, if you have park hoppers, you can take the monorail from Epcot to MK. You will really enjoy the atmosphere of the BW too.

boy if did not own DVC - it would be value resorts for me.

so can understand.

if your budget and marriage can stand the extra cost would go for BWV - with a studio instead of a room - you will get a kitchennett so if you order groceries you can cut some of the extra cost.

a BWI room has 2 queen beds and a small day bed

bwv has queen bed and a double sleeper sofa - some have a tiny day bed - but those are just impossible to get (w/day bed)

Bw has 3 pools - one the main pool at BWV - another one at BWV and one at BWI. all have hot tubs (spa) next to the pool.

Thank you so much for all your help and as much as I wish I could say we are staying at Boardwalk, looks like another CBR deal for us with (hoping to get free dining and then the upcharge to deluxe), we figured we could add 3 days and shoot over to HRH for Harry Potter, that will only cost us an extra $1155 which wouold be the upcharge for Boardwalk. So if we can get he days to match we are doing another split stay. I would love to hear all about Boardwalk I know I will be lurking on the thread for info.

Have you tried the other moderates? POR and CSR are both really nice, and CSR on a dining plan is a great deal.
