We just booked our first family vacation to disney, I'm so excited, but starting to get a little worried after reading some the posting on this site. I've never stayed on site before and anyone I've known has stayed at the CBR and said it was beautiful. I know that's it's one on the oldest resorts on site, but I've always thought that disney would keep everything up to date, could I be wrong?

CBR just went through an extensive rehab 2 years ago. As of Monday it looked fine (except for some palm tree debris)

CBR is beautiful and the rooms were refurbished and reopened in Jan 2003.

People are more likely to post a negative review than a positive one. Many, many people stay at CBR and have a wonderful time.

Stayed at CBR 9/9 - 9/16 and it was very well kept up, there was some damaged from the hurricanes which was mostly fallen trees and branches. They are cleaning everything as best they can considering the size of WDW. It was very relaxing there. The food court is pretty much the same as the ones in WDW. Our room was clean, quiet and very comfortable. It was not crowded at all. A very peaceful resort. Enjoy!!!

CBR is our favorite moderate. Last stayed there in Apr.2003 and will be back ther for 1 night (Nov.27)with our party of 10 before we check into SSR. You'll love it!

I've stayed at CBR three times and I don't think it looks old at all- the landscaping is beautiful and the buildings look bright and clean. The food court/gift shop area is also very clean and well kept.

We've had awesome mousekeepers at CBR at Martinique and Jamaica- the room would be spotless and we always got towel critters.

We were there in July and we loved CBR! We'll definitely stay there when we go back in 2006.

We LOVED CBR when we stayed there last year. We are staying there again in a couple of weeks. My dd thought it was the coolest thing ever walking across the bridges to the food court, etc. Have a great time!!!!!

Just back 9/27 from CBR. Resort is beautiful. One thing though Non of the pools were heated when I was there. 9/21-27/04. I was told the pool heaters went down during Hurricane Frances and have not been fixed since. Water was fine to swim in during the day but was a little chilly during the cool evenings. So I had to sit in the hot tub ;)

I will be writing my trip report as soon as I catch up with my laundry and work I have had to bring home to catch up at work. LOL Maybe this weekend.

Thanks everybody I'm :Pinkbounc for joy now!! My kids will be 9 & 6 when we go, should I ask for a certain building when we arrive that would be centrally located to the food court, arcade, etc. or am I allowed to do that since we only paid for a standard view?

CBR has never disappointed me. Last stay was Dec. '03 after all the remodeling was complete. It's truly tropical and completely lovely. Don't worry about the "bad" posts. There are many many good posts about it too!
