Hey you all,

This is my first time posting, read everything off and on for the last two days, it has been very helpful to me!

We went to DW for the first time last year, Aug 29 - Sept 3 and stayed in Aruba 5323, first floor with garden view, absolutley lovely and quiet. We did have minor arguments after getting home from the parks.."who is going to OPR to get drinks?" Sore feet and tired, it happened every time..so this time we booked the 5+2 package w/o airfare (frequent flyer miles = $10 per ticket!) and I did request Martinique online before finding this site and finding out it's preferred location. Got on the phone and called DW Travel, asked how much it would be to change to preferred, she put me on hold and then came back and said it would only be $4 dollars more...For Martinique #25 first level? Go figure  Ok then haha..

I do highly recommend Dr Scholls Moleskin for the walking, its like band-aids with flannel on the outside to use on your feet on the parts where you'd get blisters, before you start all the walking, it certainly helps, trust me on this, already bought 2 packages for this upcoming trip haha!

Question:
1. All these discounts I have been reading about, where to find them and can anyone use them? I read about incredible prices on some of these rooms, wow!

Also about the refillable mugs ;) , we checked ours out and they do say 2003 - 2004 and have the same colors too, but we won't be bringing them with us, I would feel cheap in doing so, also the color on them have faded a bit since being in the dishwasher! We're buying new ones for sure!

I would like to thank you all for wonderful information, it helps out alot even if we have been there "just recently", oh, they sure do have the Mickey Waffles, at least Sept -03 they did.

Ttys ;)

First of all, wlecome to the DIS boards; you will find everything you need to plan the best trip at the best price possible.

The absolute best place to check on current discounts would be www.mousesavers.com; right now, most of us are waiting for AP (annual pass) discounts codes to be released for value season. Looks like we are going the same month, same place - CBR is our absolute favorite!!

We are hoping that AP rates could be as low as $74 a night for standard view at CBR with the AP rate so we are crossing our fingers.

Actually, last year in May of 2003 we lucked out with a rate of $94 a night (believe it was peak season) and when we arrived we politely inquired into an upgrade in Jamaica; they ended up putting us in Bldg. 45, second floor with preferred view of lake. We requested Jamaica for one primary reason - we read on these boards that the buses pick-up/drop-off first in that area and that advice was right. I would say that this happened about 85% of the time and we were very happy; it was also only a 3 minute walk across the bridge to get to Old Port Royale.

As for the refillable mugs, DH and I are both bringing the ones from last trip; you would be amazed at how many people actually bring their old ones - hey, it saves $20 to buy a quick lunch in Disney, right? Good luck with your planning and let us know if you have any other questions!!!

Hey there!

I really appreciate all the information I can get, still confused on the AP though, when to buy it to make it next year and only IF there will be discounts available, otherwise $379 would be lost to us. I understand that only 1 person in the family needs to buy it to be able to get the discounts available? We totally loved CBR, the atmosphere is so relaxing and there is nothing but peace of mind staying there.

Aruba was the second stop and we never had any trouble with the buses at all during our 1 week stay last year. The only thing I remember about staying on the first floor was some bugs on the floor once in a while, I totally loved the lizards outside, they were hilarious! They were clinging to the outside lamp-posts and sticking there head out, just like they were on the look-out..:D

I just cannot wait to get back there again, totally butterfly-ish tummy everyday and so excited lol

We also are going to cancel Mears and go with Happy Limo this time, it is basically the same price (tip not added though) but for the luxary of not having to stop anywhere else and have the option to stop at the grocery store to buy some packs of water, it's worth it to me. My DH thinks we shouldn't hassle with that, but I certainly do! If we can bring at least 2 bottles of water with us every morning, that's a saving of $15! Duh, men haha

Thanks again!!!:Pinkbounc :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:
