I have never stayed at the CBR and my daughter and I will have a preferred room in Aug. Please help me when it comes to asking for a particular area-- as I do not know anything about this resort.

Thanks

We were in a king corner room in Martinique and really enjoyed it. :) It was very close to the food court and main pool. Also close to the bus stop. I'm not sure what your choices are for preferred... but Martinique was great. :thumbsup2

Last year we were in Bldg. 33 in Trinidad North and we loved it. This year we are hoping to try Martinque. That way we would have tried both sides of Preferred.

I don't take the bus. Lots of people who do swear that if you stay in Trinidad South you'll be in hell. So, that aside...

I like Trinidad South. It is near a small pool. There is a hammock that almost nobody is ever in. And it is kind of removed from the hustle/bustle.

Last time I was there (May) I got a pretty dirty room - nothing housekeeping had missed the last time around...just stuff housekeeping had been letting slide for quite a while. They really needed to go in there and do a sort of "spring cleaning" kind of thing. I don't know if it was just that room or the whole building or the whole resort.

Good luck with getting whatever request you put in!! :)

We love CBR! If you're in a preferred room, you'll be in Martinique 24, 25, or 26, or Trinidad North 31, 32, or 33. All are great locations, close to the food court. Having said that, I think Safetymom reported recently on the CBR FAQ thread that the walkway to Trinidad North was closed again for the pool construction -- the closing of that walkway may not last as long as the pool construction though.

You can see photos of the locations we've stayed in -- Martinique 2549, and Trinidad North 3128 -- in the links below. I think that regardless of which area you are in, you'll have a great visit!

Martinique and Jamaica are great locations. Not far from the food court and no problems getting on buses there.
I would recommend you steer clear of Trinidad South--unless you want extra quiet and seclusion. It is quite a distance from the food court compared to the other island buildings and quite often in the mornings the busses are full before reaching Trinidad South and don't even stop. Honestly, I would transfer to another resort before I would take a room there.

We stayed in Trinidad South a few weeks ago and we were very nervous because of hearing bad things about it on here and we ended up loving it. It really wasnt that far to the food court and you can always take the internal bus. We never had a problem with the buses either-we waited at the most 10 minutes.

With a preferred room, I'd suggest Martinque 26 or 25, corner room, as a request. It's very clsoe to the bus and OPR and a corner room, while not any larger, gives a nice more light.

We had a wonderful corner room, (parking lot view) in blding 26 one visit and it was fabulous. The lush palms, foliage and flowers are beautiful! It was a few steps to the bus stop (we could choose from Martinique stop or OPR stop).

Twice we had a corner room in bldg 25 with a view of the beach - perfection.

Although we've wanted to try other villages, we enjoy Martinique too much!

Have a great visit!

Glad you experience was different than ours. After a horrible time in that location twice, we decided it was not for us. Tried the internal resort shuttle, but after waiting on the bus and waiting for it to get alllll the way back around, to Port Royal, that can be a lengthy journey, so it really wasn't 'convenient' in our eyes...not as convenient as just staying in another location. But everyone has their preferences.

i was gonna also chime in with a martinique recommendation! we had room 2549 last fall also, and LOVED our location! we never needed our stroller on CBR property (our ds1 had just started walking just prior to our trip) as everything was very convienient to this room: OPR, food court, beach, bus stop, laundry, and quiet pool.

How cool! Didn't you love this view from outside the doorway?!!!

I'm with you. I would switch to any place before staying in Trinidad South again! I stayed there once and I am fearful to ever stay at CBR again because of it! The area is just so far away from the center, so removed from everything, so much extra walking. But my main reason I disliked it is that I travel solo and sort of like being near other people and the "vibe" of Disney. So when I ended up getting the lonely isolation of Trinidad South, it was the last thing I wanted! :sad2:

Thank goodness I had a car so I could drive to the food court! That is probably the only thing that saved my trip.

I KNOW I will get Trinidad South again if I stay at CBR (since I always get the same areas over and over no matter what I request) - so I will only consider it with a perferred room now!
