OK, I know I can investigate this when I have time, but I trust you all. We are going to CR in May and now DH wants to go before and during Thanksgiving too(Seasonal passes :D ). SOG gave us good overflow rates to CBR(the only mod we have NOT stayed at and wanted to try). I need to send them my info fairly quick(I e-mailed) and wanted to put requests in it. We want something not too far from food court and pool, but not too close to hear noises or music, non-smoking and a standard view that is not the parking lot(NOT quiet pool view either-noisy)! Any advice? Thanks guys, will check after we get home from a game!
I will check out Seasprays site and the Carlson site too!

In April 2001 we requested and got Aruba. It's across the bridge from all the action. We wanted to be away from the noise. It was great! I requested the more current village that had been redone. However, now that all the villages are done. I would request Jamaica (because it's a bright yellow), near the playground (only noisy during the day when I'm at the parks). It's right at the bridge. I timed the walk from Aruba to OPR. It's 7 minutes pushing a stroller ~ it would be less than that from Jamaica. I loved walking over the bridge. S

I suggest you visit the CBR FAQ thread. I have the URL listed below. Many people have mentioned their favorites when staying at CBR. It depends on what you want to be close to when you stay at CBR.

Aruba and Jamaica looked like good locations on the map I found earlier:D . Which village of Aruba is most recently redone, or are all of them? We always enjoy walking across the bridge at POR, so I guess that looks appealing to me too:D ! Thanks for the help. Just want to get something down on the request now, though I can change I suppose! Will read that LONG thread when I get a chance.

All the villages at CBR have been refurbished. They are all in very nice shape.

We when went in April of last year, we stayed at Aruba (I chose that one because it was were DH and I went on our honeymoon!) We were in room 515. It was close to the bus stope and a short walk (4-7 min) to the food court. DD and DS were in a stroller. It was a really nice place to stay, but I recommend if you have a stroller request a ground floor. It's pretty hard to drag the stoller up and down the stairs all the time.:D

Thanks:D ! Luckily, my kids are big enough to walk! We usually like the top floor for noise control. I assume this would be second floor in ALL the buildings here? POR has elevators, but walking up one floor will be ok. I think I am leaning towards Jamaica 42 or 44(scared the playground would be louder at 45), Or Aruba 52(I think I read on the FAQ that 51 was smoking, we need non-smoking). It is hard to tell on the map how 44 is -looks kind of sideways from water to parking lot? Anyway, I want to have several preferred choices since it will be Thanksgiving week and more crowded than we are used to!
Hard planning 2 trips at once:crazy:, but I am happy to do it :teeth: !

Our room was non-smoking. I don't know about the other side, but our side was non-smoking. I'm really good a picking up the smell. It's amazing, I grew up with it and it bothered me, but I went away to college and requested a non-smoking roommate and I came home for the weekend and the smelled drove me up a wall. Its amazing how quick your body adjusts to things like that. All the CBR building don't have elevators. That's what I was told when we checked in.

I would go with Jamaica. The entire village is non smoking, which means you are less likely to run into smokers at the quiet pool. It is also the 1st bus stop going to and coming from the parks. I would choose building 45, as it will be closer to the bridge taking you to the food court and main pool, as well as closer to the bus stop!

Have a great trip!

Hi BibbidiBobbidiBoo!

We stayed at CBR in Spet 01 and were in Jamaica 44. It was a GREAT location- right over the bridge. We did not have a parking lot view, but were close enough to it which was nice since we used our car every day.I loved the peacefulness of it- yet we were just a quick walk to the big pool (which we didn't use much, but we always used the quiet pool, which was close by) and the food court (we went here every morning for breakfast). I really enjoyed the walk over the bridge each morning- it put me in such a Disney mood. Thinking about it right now makes me wish I were there!!

Let me know if you have any other questions about that location and I would be happy to help:)

Meg

Thanks Meg!:D Which one is actually closest to the playground-44 or 45, I just found another map which makes it look like it is by 44. But if we don't have waterview, it won't matter I suppose!
We also use our car from the moderates.
I am getting excited about our May trip to CR-never stayed there either. I guess we are trying to stay at them all eventually :p !
CBR trip is not until Nov. at least!
