Asking for a friend. Her family is supposed to stay at CBR for a soccer tournament. She has a family of 5. Apparently the room blocks are for rooms that are for 4 people.

Can all 5 of them stay and be added to the room reservation/MDE correctly?

What can she do about this?

I hope I explained well enough!

Thanks!

I think since they reclassified CBR to include 5th sleepers as a separate bookable class instead of a default when you book for 5 people, probably not.

Travel (softball) parent here. We have this issue all the time when we travel with our club as some families are over 4 people. Your friend needs to call whoever does the bookings for their group and ask how they should adjust for their family. Often this may mean two rooms. What we sometimes do for our larger families is ask a smaller family of two/three to have the larger families athlete stay in their room. Or if your not in a stay and play situation, where they tell you which resort(s) you must stay in to play in that tournament, choose another onsite resort that sleeps 5.

Do they have to book as part of the room block? I understand its a discounted group rate, but it might be cheaper to book one 5-person room outside the block than it would be to book two rooms under the block. I agree with PP that since the 5-person rooms are now a bookable category and they are not bookable under the block, it won't be as easy to put them in a 5 person room.

This resort does sleep 5 in a room, but not all rooms have the fold-down 5th sleeper bed.

OP I would assume that if all 5 are listed on the MDE reservation then it's probably fine, but assuming might not be best -- to be sure I'd make a call to Disney (if your friend has their own confirmation number) or the person who did the booking for them to double check.

Yes, this. Your friend will have to book the new 5th sleeper category at CBR in order to accommodate her family there. She cannot add a 5th person to a room at CBR unless it is specified as a 5th sleeper. She should speak to whomever is coordinating the room blocks and ask if they have rooms that will sleep 5 either at CBR or another resort. If not, as PP suggested, she can book 2 rooms at CBR in the block or simply book a 5th sleeper at CBR on her own.
