Can someone tell me the extra cost of a preferred room per night compared to a standard view room and in your opinion is it worth the extra expense. Thank you

The cost of preferred rooms at moderate and value resorts are not worth it unless you are someone who can't walk or would prefer not to walk far. For us, we've never seen a value in that; same for views in a value/mod resort. Why would I care about the view when we don't even have a balcony? But that just my opinion.

Thank you . Wasn’t really sure the location was worth the expense either for that much more

I wouldn't stay at CBR again without paying for a preferred room. For my stay I took the advice of many here and didn't book preferred. I regretted it the whole trip.

CBR is massive. If you book standard you can have quite a walk to the main buildings/themed pool. I had a refillable mug and it was a waste. After a long day in the parks the last thing I wanted was a 20 minute round trip walk to get some pop. And by the time I got back to my room the pop was gone. I ended up buying pop from the machine near my room.

CBR now has Coke freestyle machines for the refillable mugs in every island village so this is no longer an issue.

The only resort that I would upgrade from standard to pool view, is AKL.

That is good to know. Still, the resort is massive, and being preferred is the only way to be anywhere near the food court and main pool.

Just a general FYI, there are about 200 non Preferred rooms that are closer to the Main Feature Pool and Food Court than some Preferred.

If you have a car, I'd not spend the extra on the preferred room.

I love to walk so the preferred room wouldn't matter to me, but if mobility is an issue - then it's worth every penny.
