Just a question, is it worth upgrading my standard view to preferred view in order to request Martinique or Trinidad North for an extra $381 for 7 days. DS (4 1/2) will be in a stroller and I worry DD 8 1/2 will be tired from walking all day in the parks. I don't want to struggle to get back to the room every night and to get to breakfast every morning. Any thoughts? Thanks

It's very worth it to request an upgrade. My family and I were just there (8/5-8/12) and we requested Trinidad South, Bay View, Corner Room. We got exactly what we wanted and it was quiet, roomy with a beautiful view.

Building 35 is very near the bus stop, so walking was never a problem (our daughters are 7, 7 and 9). It is a little farther to Old Port Royal, but we had a rental car and when we didn't feel up to walking, we just drove.

We heard that Trinidad North was not a great place to stay (relatively speaking, of course, we were very happy with CBR) and that Trinidad South and Martinique were two of the best "islands" to stay at.

Hope this helps :wizard:

Jamaica is a great location at CBR. The past 3 times I have requested Jamaica and recieved it. It is about a 5 minute walk to OPR from there. The past two times I have stayed in Bldg 44. Also Jamaica has a playground on it's beach.

It's worth it!!! Trust me. I stayed in Martinique and I felt sorry for the people all the way in the back.

I don't know where my reply went but a preferred location is worth the money. I don't know where you are getting that price though because preferred costs $15 extra nightly.

If you are going at a busy time just putting in a request for a preferred location you probably won't get it.

Jamaica is a great location also if you don't want to spend the extra money.

we just came home yesterday ...
we had an awesome preferred room at martinique ... definitely worth the $$$

CBR is a HUGE resort ... you might get lucky and get a 5 minute walk or you could get a 15 minute walk!

we were talking to one grandpa in the food court ... said he only came to port royale twice the whole trip coz it was too far.

we were in building 26 courtyard view ... it was a great room and we had the BEST mousekeeper (Katrina like the hurricane) she really made a fuss with towel animals and DD's own stuffed animals ... came home to find them (the animals) watching TV one day and reading a book another day ... DD couldnt wait to get back to the room every day.

Thanks for all the responses :cheer2: I upgraded and it was only $96 more, I was quoted the wrong amount before, so I am pleased. We are going 10/23-10/29

We wanted a preferred room too but we also wanted a king size bed. At CBR you can't request both in advance so we just went with the king bed. We are hoping since we are going in Nov that we can request a king room in Barbados we get there. If not......we will be happy where we are.

It will be the best 96.00 bucks you will ever spend. I stayed in Martinique before they started charging extra for it. It's a great location, we were two minutes from food court, pool bus stop etc. I always enjoyed the CBR but to be truthful I was never out in the boonies either stay. :cool1:
