Newbie here! We are taking our 4 year old to Disney for the first time in September. We would like to stay at CBR. Can someone explain what rooms are considered 'preferred' at this resort. Is it worth the extra money to get a preferred room?

Martinique and Trinidad North are considered the preferred villages. They are worth the extra money in my opinion unless you want to stay in Jamaica which is across the lake from the main pool and food court.

You might want to check out the CBR FAQ threads listed below. I also have lots of pictures on my sites listed below.

You will love CBR. Welcome to the DIS.

Don't mean to step on your toes, Safetymom, but the OP might need more clarification. The reason those two villages are "preferred" is because they are the closest to Old Port Royale, the "hub" of CBR which has a sit-down restaurant, food court, main pool, etc. Being closer has it's obvious advantage, less walking to get to Old Port Royale. I paid for this because I have 2 small kids and I wanted to minimize their walking -- we'll be doing enough in the parks (but at least in the parks we will be renting strollers). Hope this helps!

We have stayed at CBR three times and I would not stay there without a "preferred" room. We will be there again just four weeks from today. Being assured of the location and being close to the food court is worth the $15 per night.

we stayed in Martinique (bldg 25) last time and I wouldn't dream of not getting a preferred room next time around!!! We were a quick walk to the pool, food court, etc. We didn't even mind running just to fill our refillable mugs!

Hi everybody,

if I book a preferred room, which village should I chose? I´d like to have this village with the first bus stop?

Does anybody know?

Thanks, Oliver

It depends on where the bus comes into the resort which is the first bus stop. The only preferred villages are Martinique and Trinidad North. I don't think either of them are the first stop.

We were in Martinique Bldg 24 a couple of weeks ago for our first trip staying onsite. If the bus came in one way, we were the first bus stop. If it came in the other way, I think it was Jamaica that was first.

Is anyone else going July 1 thru July 8. We are going with my dd8, Where would be a good room location with a young child.
