CBR preferred room if driving?

Hi everyone! We're planning on staying at CBR for a couple of nights. One day we're just going to hang out at the resort -- mainly for the main pool. I have read a lot about this being a big resort and that it's a great place to plan on getting a preferred room. If, however, I will have a car, will a preferred room be as necessary? Can I just drive from one area of the resort to the other if we are THAT far way? Or, since it'll just be two nights is it worth the money? Opinions so welcome! :)

We were upgraded to a preferred room at CBR. It was still really far from the food court and main pool. I wouldn't spend the money on it if you have a car!

If you have a car, don't worry about location. If you decide the walk is too long you can just hop in the car and drive. We were there last October and stayed in Barbados. Most of us just walked, because it was not that far for us and it's a pretty walk. One of our party had mobility issues so she would drive to main building and park. There was parking available, so it wasn't an issue to find a parking spot.

Do you want to drive to the pool in your swimwear? Drive to eat? Have to find a parking spot and walk from there each trip? Sounds like a lot of hassle to me.

Personally I would pay for the Preferred room. I like convenience on vacation. Some people have a greatly different opinion of what a far walk is. There is no Prefered room location that I would describe as far from the food court. I wouldn't stay at CBR without a Preferred room.
