I am thinking of planning a trip back to WDW for this coming May.

I will have my 4 year old son with me and plan on staying at a mod. I have been looking at CBR mainly because of the pirate rooms. Is it worth it to spend the extra $100+ for the theme?

The only other place I stayed at was Pop last May and I honestly didn't really like it much. So, I am open to all mods...just don't know if the pirate theme is worth it.

Any feedback from those who took their kids and stayed in one of those rooms?

We stayed in the pirate rooms last May. I was lucky enough to spit the cost with my best friend. My 9 year old daughter loved it along with my friends 9 year old son. They were so amazed when we got there. I personally think that if your going to stay in a mod any way you might as well up grade to the pirate room. If your son is into pirates he will love it. I also liked having a room that was just refurbed and the beds were way nicer than POP.:yay: Don't forget you also get a fridge, a cieling fan, a privacy curtain and a little extra room.

We decided to try the Pirate room last year for 2 nights and LOVED IT!

The theme was just great...I think my husband was the biggest fan :rotfl:
It was our first time staying moderate and I loved the size of the room, etc
We'll definately go back!

Does anyone know if you can get two connecting pirate rooms?

We loved the Pirate Room theme. Plus we got a free upgrade and didn't pay any extra for the room.

Unfortuantely we weren't happy with the location of the rooms. They were way too far away from the main pool for us. It wouldn't be a problem for just my wife and me but with 2 toddlers it was tough. Also the Pirate rooms are at the last bus stop in the resort so we always encountered full buses.

We are switching back to CSR next time. We found that queen beds were more important than room theme for us.

We stayed here and loved the room. Their was a quiet pool close by and we used that one. The main pool was nearly a 10 minute walk. We drove to the food court and main pool. It was a lot of work (while on vacation) and will not do it again.

No huge pirate fans in my family, we just booked there for a quick stay since that was the only room available. The rooms were cute but the looonnnggg walk to the food court and main pool made them not worth it for me. I would rather spend the money on a preferred room location at CBR.

how much more expensive is the pirate room?

A little over $100 more for the Pirate Standard room.

And thanks everyone for the suggestions and info :) Still trying to decide if it will work out or not...but its always something to keep in mind for a possibility next year if not!
