CBR or POR and why this is our first ever visit to WDW. I have two DS ages 5, & 11. Any help would be appreciated. :)

Our first time to WDW we were torn between the same two resorts you are. I asked the same question and most people recommended POR. So we stayed there. We were very happy with it and would gladly stay there again. Our room was small, but I thought it was very pretty (this was in the mansion section). Request a corner room so you can have 2 windows. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. My kids loved the pool and the surrey bikes and taking the water taxi to Downtown Disney. If I were going to stay at a moderate again, it would be POR.

With two young sons, I would suggest POR. Ask to stay in the Alligator Bayou section. I think they'd have fun with it, not to mention POR has a great waterslide in its pool!

For my kids the waterslide is one of the main attractions at the resort. CBR has a very short one that dumps them into 5 feet of water. They like the one at POR because it's longer, has some curves, and dumps them into 3.5 feet of water where they can stand.
Both resorts are beautiful though::yes::

I've stayed at both and definitely recommend POR, particularly if you are going during a busy time of the year. I went the same week in August a year apart to these two resorts and CBR felt much more crowded to me, in a bad way. Main pool was so crowded you could hardly get a chair and being in the water was not enjoyable. Food court was dirty, packed and hard to get a table. Overall, POR just felt much more relaxing, in addition to the pros cited above.

This will be our first visit and wondering if the last week, first week in sept. was still to busy. My sons will be in school but I know not all kids will?

I recommend POR also. Last week in August, first week of September are great (except for Labor Day Weekend). Park hours are shortened though after Labor Day. Kids here go back to school August 9th this year!!!:thewave:
