Good morning everyone! (Well, it is morning here anyway.)

We had originally decided on POP for our May '08 trip but after doing some pricing, I discovered that the moderates weren't as expensive as I thought they were. So.... my question is this -

Which resort would you prefer to stay at.... the Caribbean Beach Resort or one of the Port Orleans resorts (there is more than one, right?)

Our kids will be barely 5 and almost 2 at the time of our trip.

Good decission! I've stayed at the Values once to see what all the fuss was about and I was very disappointed! It's crowded and loud! I never got a good nights sleep! Yep, even at 5am it is still loud!

The Moderates are my favorite! I love the spreadout effect of the resorts. It's like a vacation within a vacation! My next trip will complete my goal to stay at all of them! So, as far as your question CBR or PO? Both are my favorites! PO probably my first choice, CBR my second choice of of the moderates. CBR's main pool will be closed for renovation during your stay so I would pick PO if I were you. Which side? POFQ or POR? I would say POFQ as your little ones will love the pool area more I think!

Enjoy!

I have stayed at CBR three times and it has always been great. It is a large resort, with several villages around the lake. The good thing, is that each 'village' has its own quiet pool and laundry. It is a very beautifull resort. I think the main pool will be closed for renovation next year, you might want to check on that one. They are going with a POC theme. The main pool is right at the food court, Shutters, and gift shop. They also have a nice pool bar.

I have never stayed at POFQ or POR, hubby doesn't like the theming. I would stay at POFQ, it is smaller from what I have read.

So, you will have one in a stroller? Are you driving or flying? I think the buses at CBR are ok, not a long wait at all. Not sure about the PO buses, they share buses.

It's not really a big deal that Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside "share buses". They actually don't share buses. It's really one resort that has two front desks and two food courts and you are allowed to pick which section you want to stay in (Riverside or French Quarter) when you make your reservation.

Port Orleans has a total of 5 bus stops. Carribean Beach has a total of 7. So I don't think the buses should an issue in your decision. Carribean Beach is a large resort. I think it's larger than all of Port Orleans together. (It has a 45 acre lake!). Carribean Beach has preferred buildings so you can be closer to the Main Building. French Quarter is so small that it doesn't matter where you are. I feel the same abour Riverside, but some would disagree.

I think the most important thing you should think about is this:

Do you want to feel like you are in the islands at your resort or do you want to feel like you are in the South. Carribean beach is more about the palm trees and island/sea feel with that huge lake. Riverside has tons of trees, it's really lush. French Quarter has more of a city feel, with some palm trees but beautiful courtyards. Port Orleans is built around a River.

I hope all this helps.
