cbr or deluxe (AKL)

I have always stayed at the deluxe resorts and now want to try a moderate. Would you stay at CBR or POR for a first time try at the moderates? We are going to take 2 rooms (4 children) if this helps guide me. Thanks for the opinions as I am so very undecided!!!!

My family and I LOVE CBR! IMHO, I think it's the most relaxing of all the moderates. CBR gets my vote, hands down!

I like the CBR because it's a such a pretty resort. The theme is great and landscaping is beautiful. The rooms are bright and there is lots to do there (bikes, boats, arcade, relax at beaches). I prefer the islands theme of CBR over the AKL theme which doesn't appeal to me at all. Good luck with your decision. I'm sure you'll have a great vacation no matter where you stay!

I have stayed at all the moderates and like the theming of CBR the best. I truly feel like I have escaped to the Islands when I stay at CBR.

All the rooms and food court have been refurbished within the last year also.

We have stayed at all the moderates and my least favorite was CBR...now that was prior to the renovations. We love POR and it is by fair our favorite. The transporation at CBR was always crowded and we went in September. Found the walk to the main house (whatever it is called) far & they considered us to be close. I wasn't real impressed but it seems most do like it so maybe I missed something!

I like the CBR, but the only thing I didn't like was the long walk to Old Port Royale, but all in all it is a good resort.

Never stayed at CBR, but disliked POR!

The only moderate that I have stayed at was CBR and we loved it! We had a great king room in the building next to the parking lot by Port Royale. It was great. I would stay there again too.

I think CBR or POR would be a great choice. I've found that when I'm going to any resort, if I know what to expect, I will enjoy it, even the All Stars. Every Disney resort has something to offer, and you must give up something at each. Going from AKL to a moderate isn't as difficult to do since both are serviced by bus, although you will find only 1 restaurant (and a larger food court) at the moderates, and you will (probably) have to do more walking. Just my thoughts. Enjoy your stay.

I would pick CBR in a heartbeat over AKL mainly because I like that there is the lake to walk around and several pools. I love that at CBR you can get away from people. I felt trapped at AKL because the only places to visit aside from the savannah was the ever crowded pool. CBR rooms are bright and cheery.

CSR is my favorite mod. It has more of a deluxe feel and the pool is even better than AKL.

Thanks for the feedback all and thanks cindy for the welcome to the boards!! After reading the opinions I now know that even at te best hotels you can have an off day! So, since this is a new hotel for us we are going to hope for the best! The kids already know (I can never surprise them!) and they are ready to pack today!!!!! Thanks again all!
