hey

Me and my partner and booked into CBR as it stands for November 2019 for our honeymoon

We quite like the look of that resort and a good chance you will have the Disney sky liner than too and may be quicker to the parks too ?

However I noticed that’s its only a few hundred pound more for AKL which looked nice to

I’m just wondering what resort you would say is best and what you would choose

We haven’t stayed at ethier before and would like a bit of advance on what u think we should do

Deluxe over mod if you can afford it! AKL is gorgeous! Amazing theming, great restaurants, etc. I would so much rather stay at AKL than CBR for a honeymoon!

Will transport not be a lot quicker at CBR getting around everything if the sky liner is there ?

AKL is lovely.

Things I enjoyed:
Spacious accommodations
Views of the animals
Pools and hot tubs
Theming
Balcony in our room
Restaurants--Sanaa is yummy!
Staff

I have stayed value, mod, and deluxe, and found Disney staff to be just as helpful and courteous at a value as they are at a deluxe. I have never stayed at CBR, only at POFQ for mods. Loved it!

I was also wondering if I have breakfast at AKL does that use a table service credit

If I wanted to only use a quick service credit how much extra would it cost for breakfast

Are you referring to the breakfast buffet at Boma? That is a table service credit. The Mara is the quick service location at AKL where you can redeem a quick service credit for breakfast. If you want to eat at Boma and don't have a TS credit to spare, you'd just have to pay for it.

Between CBR and AKL, I would opt for AKL. Its a smaller resort and easier to navigate. CBR is more central in terms of location and the Skyliner will be interesting once its opened, but at this point, I'm not sure we have a definitive opening date and of course no one can confirm how well (or not well) it works. I would imagine the Skyliner to be busy during the first few months of operation. AKL has a slightly longer commute to the parks (except AK) since its off the beaten path, but it has better dining options and a nicer pool, IMO.

The Mara is QS. We did not eat there but the menu is available online. Sanaa was my go-to.

No, as I said above, Boma is table service which means you can only redeem table service credits there. You'd have to pay the full price of Boma if you only have quick service credits left.

ETA: There was a time when guest services would *sometimes* convert two quick service credits to 1 table service credit, but I haven't heard of this happening in a while. Wouldn't hurt to ask, but I wouldn't rely on it. That would redeem 2 of your quick service credits per person in that case.

Ok thanks. I have never been on the dinning plan before so I wasn’t sure if you could use the value of what the quick service is worth and just paid the extra so that’s for confirming that

Does anyone no the cost off breakfast at boma. Does look good there

Unfortunately not. Breakfast at Boma is served until 11am. I would recommend making a reservation, its a popular restaurant for off-site and other resort guests to visit.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Wherever you stay, enjoy your honeymoon!

Eta: Yes, you can see all the menus for the Disney restaurants. Do you have the MyDisneyExoerience app? You can view them there, or just go to the WDW website, or even Google the name of the restaurant and menu. The menu may change a bit by your trip, but you can get a very good idea of pricing.

Any other advice from anyone else on what resort they would pick

It’s looking like AKL by sounds of it lol

If you are torn and want the advantages of both why not book a split stay -- spend your first part at CBR and then the end of your trip at AKL. When it is 2 adults and no children split stays are super easy. It make it feel like 2 vacations in one. It is tough to compare a moderate to deluxe because the deluxe resorts will have more to offer in amenities and finishes - you can generally feel and see the difference between a moderate and deluxe. AK has amazing restaurants - I have eaten at Boma and Sanna and were impressed by both. Jiko is suppose to be amazing too.

Interior hallways vs. exterior room doors. AKL isn't as sprawling as CBR. Theming is far nicer. Better amenities, bigger rooms, etc. I've stayed at both. I'd happily stay at AKL again. CBR, not so much. AKL is a hotel. CBR is a motel.

I don't know if anyone has a good answer regarding the Skyliner and its speed. From what I've read, they will only hold up to 8 adults per car and won't be air conditioned. I don't think anyone is going to have a good idea as to how fast it is until it's up and running. To circumvent transportation issues at WDW, we either stay at a MK resort or an EP resort and use uber/lyft/Minnie Vans a lot.

Standard rooms are 344 square feet at AKL. Deluxe and concierge rooms are larger. The balcony at AKL is also a nice benefit.

AKL for sure! If its your honeymoon - be sure to pay for a savanna view. The ability to hang out on your balcony will be a nice touch.
