It was beautiful..

We stayed in Aruba bldg 51. It was a pretty far walk over to the food court, so most of the time we drove. After all the walking we did in the parks, we really didnt feel like a 10 min walk for coffee. Beautiful resort, very friendy service, no towel animals though, and I was disapointed about that for my 9 year old DS.

We didnt use the bus since that was quite a walk also, just easier to use the car. Any time we called housekeeping for any thing ( more towels, etc.) they came immediately.

Lots of training going on at Disney of new employees, both at the hotel and the parks. Business must be good!

No waits at any parks for any rides, walked on everything, used fast pace once in 8 days for test track.

Please feel free to ask any questions you have and I will do my best to answer.

We have started planning our next trip, but I think this time we will stay at the Contemporary.

How was the weather? Did you dine at Shutters? Did you request Aruba bldg 51? Did you eat at the food court? Did you not get the refillable mug because of the 10 min. walk? Glad to hear biz seems to be booming. :)

Glad to hear you enjoyed the CBR. It's a beautiful resort and one of our favorites. Enjoy planning for next year, the Contemporary is our absolute favorite resort, you can't beat the location and the transportation (monorail/boats in addition to buses) is pretty good.

Knowing what you do now about your building in Aruba and the distance to the food court, if given the option of waiting until later in the day to check in with the posibility of Martinique or Trinidad N. would you have waited. We will be checking in early (approx. 8:45) and I predict this will be something we will have to decide on. Thanks.

We were at Aruba bldg. 52, room 5204, three weeks ago. I'm surprised to hear that you didn't get any towel animals. We kept getting new ones on our 3 nite stay (elephant, rabbit, dog?). Like you said, beautiful resort. Love that walk on the bridge to to the food court.

The weather was hot/humid which we're not used to (coming from California) and rain was on and off, rain would start around 2pm and stop around 4 (which did help cool off the weather).

A lot of walking, especially to the bus stop. The buses came regularly (about a 5 min. wait) to all the parks. Service was excellent, we called for blowdryer and extra towels and they came really fast. Food at shutters was ok. Breakfast at the food court was good, the kids love those french toast sticks on those beach buckets.

If we do get back there again, we'll probably ask for Martinique or Trinidad N. as Timewarp had suggested.

billybaruch1: The weather was fine, they kept predicting floods, etc. but during the entire 8 days, it rained twice, about 10 min. each. We didnt have a chance to eat at Shutters, always back to late from the Parks. food court was fine, the Grab &Go deli has a great Turkey wrap. We did get the refillable mug, at night when we got back, we would stop at the food court and fill them up with coffee and soda. Definately worth it. Also if you are at the pool, the Banana Cabana will give you soda for free if you have your mug.

Timewarp: I dont think it was the time of day that determined our bldg. I think it was because my DH wanted a second story room, and at that time it was the only one available. They were repaving the closer Aruba buildings parking lot while we were there so I dont think they were putting any body in those rooms. perhaps if we wanted first floor, we could have been closer.

Safteymom: I cant thank you enough for recomending this resort, if it wasnt for you we would have opted for Coronado Springs. Thanks again for all your helpful information.

Jakesmom1, glad to hear that my information was helpful. I am planning a trip to CBR in Oct. I can't wait. :)

Billy - we ate at Shutters in August. It was OK - a bit pricey I thought. The food is definitely Caribbean - check out the menu beforehand. We were there for 4 days - of the 3 places we ate at for dinner this was the least favorite. It wasn't crowded - we were able to get a PS just a couple of hours before.

Timewarp:

When we went in August 2002, I wish I would have waited longer (assuming this was an option) to check in, in order to get a Martinique building. We got a Trinidad South room and the walk was VERY long. Like the previous DISer said, after a day of walking at the parks, the last thing you want to do is walk another 15 minutes (one way) to Old Port Royale to fill your refillable mug.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE CBR! But I would try to stay away from Trinidad South... it is just too far away. Martinique is definetly my favorite island at CBR.
