Hi.

We had originally planned to stay on international drive, but we have now found out that our friends are staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort, at the same time as we are in florida. Obviously it would be nice to stay near them, so this is what i'm asking.

Is the Caribbean Beach Resort worth the extra $100 a night?

thanks for your help.

What are your dates? Have you checked for discounts at mousesavers.com? Is at least one adult a passholder? CBR is a really nice resort. Very colorful, tropical, laid back and has wonderful rooms with lots of space and storage. Buses to all the parks. A Disney store, food ourt,sit-down restaurant, water slide, hot tub, pol bar, marina.

Dont just think of it as going from a hotel to anoter hotel.
Its like going from a hotel to Mouse paradise.

You would get the Full efffect of disney by staying on prpoerty.
Be in the moddle of it all...
Dont forget the unforgettable theming and scernery
....You wont have to worry about being on the 30th floor
(if u choose CBR)

Pools abound at your resort..Whats INTL drive hotels got...2 pools
or so...
CBR has 7 (or 8)

Just the treatment you receive......
Covenience........
resort entertainment..........
Dont know how buses are on INTL drive.....but7 bus stops
on resort......

And where else are u gonna get your house (mouse) keeper
to fold your towels in cool animal shapes....

The best ones Ive seen werent our own....We were on our way out of the resort...The dreary last day and in a window at the
POR was a giraffe, elephant, and 4 other animals lined up
in a room window peering out the window waiting for their room owners to return....
Our take was that they were seeing us off the resort from a great trip..>Their kind of goobye ...

Now will you get that on INTL drive?

My .02

First, I'd check for a better rate. Things change daily, if you check back again you will probably find a better price. You may want to get a quote from DU if you are unsure about discounts.
Yes, I think it will be worth it to stay at CBR
1. to be closer to your friends
2. for the Disney atmosphere
3. for the convenience (you don't realize how much time you spend just getting on and off site)
4. to take advantage of Disney transportation to and from the park! If you plan to go to MK, Disney busses get you closer than any other travel method except the monorails/boats

Good Luck!

If you have it, then I would say yes. But definately check Mousesavers to see if you can get a better deal. How long will you be there? Would it be cheaper to get one person an annual pass to save the money on the rooms?

For myself, as long as I am vactioning at Disney, I will be onsite at Disney.

Yes, the convenience will outweigh any price increase especially if you are now going with another family who is staying on site. There are a few benefits that Disney advertises and a few that they don't but are even better. Disney resort guests are given the opportunity to enter one park one hour early. There is a specified park each day that opens one hour early JUST for Disney resort guests. Only certain attractions are open, but just imagine getting some of the busier attractions out of the way early and then enjoying the rest of the day at a more leisurely pace. Plus, if your friends have that benefit and you don't then there's the whole "oh, we already rode that and that" and then you end up splitting up when your intention was to spend time together.

Ultimate park-hoppers are only offered to Disney resort guests. With it you can park-hop all you want for your entire length of stay and you have unlimited access to All the water parks, Pleasure Island and DisneyQuest. So if you wanted to go to Typhoon Lagoon just for a few hours, you don't feel like you're wasting the 20+ dollars a person just for the short stay and you could return the next day and not pay a cent more. DisneyQuest is great and costs 30+ for adults. Again you could go again and again for no extra charge. It's all included in your Ultimate Park Hopper pass.

The biggest unseen benefit is time. We have stayed at Summerfield Suites on I-Drive and altho cheaper, when you look at the convenience of staying on site, there is no comparison. If you stay at the CBR, you can come back to the hotel and relax in the afternoon. There's not that 15-20 minute drive to and from the resort. If one of your children is not feeling well, you don't all have to pack it up and go back to I-Drive. One adult can just take a Disney resort bus back to the hotel and you can join them later. Sure you could just hang out at CBR with your friends and then head back to your hotel at night. How much nicer if you are just walking a few feet to your room.

Good luck and let us know what you decide

CBR is a beautiful resort. It is more than a hotel room. We truly feel like we have escaped from the world when we stay at CBR.

I agree that you could probably find a better rate. I have pictures on my web site that can help you decide that CBR is a great place to stay.

If you have any questions about CBR, be sure to ask.

hi, i'v looked into booking the FTP over the Disneyworld website for the CBR. The dates i wanted to travel were the 24th October to the 31st October. The site says that this is unavliable. Does this mean i have to pay full price, or the rooms are now sold out!?!

Try days close to toe arrivla and depart date if u are flexible...

We tried to get a SINGLE day added to OCT 28th and couldnt
Be persistant.....we were able to get it...

Otherwise Port Orleans is a very nice alternative resort

I would try call Disney's central reservation line. They will have a better idea on the availability. There are only so many rooms for the FTP package but they might have other rooms available with a discount.

i am trying different dates but they all say unavaliable

i live in england so would cost alot to phone. hmmm. i might just have to look around for other deals:mad:

You could also try one of the other moderates. A friend of mine is going during these same dates and both PO and CSR were available for that week earlier today. Both of these resorts are very nice and you would still be on property although at a different resort from your friends. I think my friend said the price was between $1300 and $1400 for 2 adults with the FTP for a waterview room. Another possibility would be the Dolphin. They have some great deals going on this year. Also, keep trying - room availability changes from hour to hour. Good luck and I hope you have a magical trip.

HI i know i have asked about this before, but we only have 2 days left!!!! We have 9 nts for room only, i also booked 2 rooms cause of dd14 ddfriend14, husband wants 2nd bathroom. I checked into CBR but for 1 room on FTP it would of been more than 2 rooms only at ASM. I know you get the los pass, im used to calling it that, but if you miss days or want to go to Sea World , which we might do, the 5 or 6 day hopper would be better. Oh i had a price for CBR, but it just seems cheaper the way i have it now. Oh this FTP is driving me nuts. lol. Im thinking to that it is going to be JAM PACKED this summer, more than last. Would would you guys do????? We are going in Aug. around the middle of the month. I am dying to stay at CBR, but for alot more money i just dont know what to do. WE usually go every year, but we love our disney vacation. So , opinions please?? THanks alot.

hi, I have finally found a room for the 24-30. Its not 7 nights, but do i still get 2 days free?

Its about $1316 for 6 nights for a pool side view. Does this pice sound right?

thanks alot

Your prices sound very high for those 6 days. I am not sure the web site is giving those free days. I would make the phone call to get the best rates.

Dopey's twin Dippy, CBR is nice but if you really want 2 rooms I would go with AS. The UPH tickets are nice and well worth it but if you don't plan on visiting the parks every day then they aren't a bargain for you.

As far as crowds you can't really compare it to last year. Crowds were done last year. We have gone at very crowded times and still had a wonderful vacation. You will still have a great vacation.

hi safetymom. What price region should the site be coming up with for the CBR?

thanks

The price you are coming up with is around $200 a night. When you are looking at that rate is that including the park tickets?

Usually the room runs less than that unless you are paying rack rates.

I think by making the call even if it is expensive you would know that you got the FTP and maybe get all 7 days. There is a lag when booking by computers. You could get the cast member to give you more options than you are getting on the computer.

Then you could relax and not have to worry about it.

hi, i just re-read the text on the disney website. it says the FTP is only for Value resorts. Is this true?

No, other resorts are available as well. They list the value resorts as an example.

We're going to be at Port Orleans Riverside. Our total (king bed room & passes for 7 nights) with the Fairytale Package was $1230.81 - that's with a $50 Disney Club discount. Maybe that will help with pricing for you.

Good luck!
