CBR, CSR, or Cabins...

I need two rooms if I choose CSR or CBR.

My kids are older so we would all want to swim swim, not just wade into a pool.

Which would you choose and why?

All pools are now basically shallow, maybe 5 feet at their deepest. None now have "Deep Ends", if that is a major consideration.
I have never stayed at CSR but it gets good reviews. I stayed at CBR and hated it. It is the only resort I would avoid at WDW.
I loved the Cabins when we stayed there when my children were young. It is a different kind of vacation. I loved having the full kitchen, the separate bedroom, cold drinks and snacks when we returned for a break etc.
Good Luck

I've never stayed at the Cabins, but I have stayed at CSR and CBR. I would pick CSR - it is a beautiful resort and it has a great pool with a fun waterslide. I believe the hot tub at CSR is also the largest of any of the resorts. There are hammocks along the lake for relaxing, it's just really nice.

Definitely CSR over CBR with the age of your children. AS PP said: The resort has the best pool at any moderate for older kids and a big hot tub. There are lots of good dining options at this resort as well. I would suggest either Business class for the breakfast/snacks/beverages and the convenient location.

The cabins would fit as well, though. There are lots of activities at FW and the nearby WL that your kids might enjoy. Also, you get a kitchen and deck. It's not our first choice, but the setup may work well for your family.

Good luck choosing!

The theming of the pool at CBR is better, but the pool itself and the pool slide are much better at CSR.

I have stayed at all 3. My favorite resort is CSR, CBR WAS OK, but just not As nice. We loved the cabins, my 4yo asks me daily when can we go back. I would not do the cabins without a golf cart (especially if you plan to spend a lot of time at the pool, it's a decent distance and waiting for a bus would make us crazy). So that may be something to consider when booking. It was nice having a kithen and the privacy and peace and quiet of the cabins, there is room to spread out and it doesnt feel like a basic hotel room. It really depends on what kind of trip you are looking for. If you plan on mostly relaxing and doing the pool, I would choose cabins. If you are looking to spend a lot of time at the parks or in a hot tub, i would choose CSR. The CSR has a larger pool, but the camp pool was still very large.

Can't speak to the Cabins at all, but we've stayed at both CBR and CSR and much prefer CSR.

For us, CBR was way too big. So much so, we didn't even do a lap around the resort to check it out like we usually do. The pool area was decent but the seating area seemed chopped up and crowded. The only bar was near the pool area which was outdoors, so it was closed the few nights it was cool and rainy.

We loved the pool area at CSR and with it being a convention resort, it has a few extra amenities such as a grab and go QS area in addition to their main QS area, three bars, and two TS restaurants. Although, I would give CBR an edge in the QS area - the dining at CSR is operated by a third party so we didn't care much for the offerings they had. CBR has more "standard" QS options.
