CBR- best room to stay at...

I am a newbie. This is my first post so please bear with me. We are planning our first trip to take our 4 yr old to WDW. We are looking at staying at CBR and was wondering which room and/or area to request for the shortest commute to bus stations, main pool, food, etc. I have read this resort is really spread out but I am still drawn to it for some reason. I really like the main pool and think my son would love it too. Also, considering resort hopping to a deluxe for a day or two at the end of our stay. Any suggestions on which one? I would love to take advantage of the monorail the last day or two and save MK for then. Thanks for your help.

I suggest you look at the links below about CBR. The villages closest to Old Port Royale and the main pool cost extra nightly. I also have a map of the resort. You will have a great time at CBR.

I stayed at the CBR in 2001, and had a water-view room in Jamaica. Loved it. Jamaica is a little removed from the main pool area, but does have it's own smaller pool. The food court and Old Port Royale are about a 5-7 minute walk over the lake and through some neat tropical vegetation - there was even a parrot in there! It was quiet and peaceful by being a bit removed, but was also easy to access everything else.

Plus, at least back then, Jamaica was the first pick-up on the Disney buses, and was the first drop-off. You were always guaranteed a seat, at least in the mornings!

Martinique and North Trinidad are the closest, but you have to pay $15 extra per night to stay in those buildings. From what I have seen, Martinique 26 seems the closest out of any of the buildings. If you don't wan to pay the extra $$$, Jamaica 45 seems to be a popular choice. I think we are going with CBR in August, and I think the extra $15 is worth it for us to be close to the Food Court and Main Pool, and I am going to request Martinique 26 (ground floor, so we don't have to lug all our stuff upstairs! )
