If you've stayed in Aruba, could you please send me a msg? I'd like to ask you a few questions. Thank you very much!!!!

I have also stayed in Aruba. If you ask your questions here others may find it helpful.

Everyone says CBR is great...but very large. I've heard that Jamaica and Aruba can be good in terms of not being too far from the main pool and food courts. I like the idea of having a pretty walk across the middle, but don't want it to be a 15min thing.

What I'm wondering is, is it only the couple of bldgs closest to the bridge in each of those villages that are desirable? Is it less than a 5 min walk from anywhere w/in Aruba to the pool and food court? Or are we talking more like 10mins or more from the furthest Aruba bldg?

Last question has to do w/ Illuminations. I've heard people say the best viewing spot is on the Martinique beach....but others have said they could see them from the walkway in front of their bldgs in Jamaica. Does this hold true in Aruba too? We have young children and it would be nice to see some of Illuminations. If they're awake, we could all take a stroll to Martinique, but if they've gone to bed early, it would be nice if dh and I could seem them from our room or just outside our door.

This is our 1st time at CBR and in a Moderate. I'm really excited and just want to make the right requests w/ our ressie.

Thank you VERY much!

I hope I can address some of this. We stayed in Jamaica 45 in December, which is the building directly across from the walkway. It took maybe 5 minutes tops to get to OPR, and I suspect it would have been about the same for the nearest Aruba building, which was right next to us. If you go "out" a few more buildings, it will add a few minutes to your walk. I watched Illuminations and Wishes every night that I was in our room at that time from the walkway outside. You would be able to see them from the walkway outside any building that faced in that direction, and that would include any of the Aruba buildings that had a view in that direction.

I haven't watched the fireworks from Aruba because when I stayed there I didn't know you could. It is a nice walk to OPR. If you are in one of the back buidlings it might take a little longer but it is a beautiful walk. Lots to see while you are walking.

My favorite was reading a book in the hammock. There is also a playground for the kids in Jamaica near where you go over the bridge to OPR. The quiet pool in Aruba is very nice also.

We went to CBR back in 98, Our first Disney trip. It is a fantastic resort. We spent 14 nights there. The hammocks were lovely and the village pools very handy. The walk to OPR is no more than 10 mins and very enjoyable, don't let this put you off. An advantage was that we were the last bus stop before leaving the resort so it was quick to the parks, and on the return we would get off at OPR and walk home.

Nice to hear from all of you. I know everyone has diff't comfort levels w/ distance, but a 5-10min walk through nice grounds sounds just fine to me!!! But from some of the posts, I was afraid we were looking at 15mins or more! I'm looking forward to our stay. ESPECIALLY today....we have 2' of snow on the ground...and winds gusting around 50mph (sustained around 25mph) so the drifts are just ridiculous!!!!!!! Oh to be in sunny, warm FL right now!!!!!!!
