CBR and AKL Q's

Hi Everyone!

I was wondering if anyone had some new photos of CBR and AKL? And which rooms should we request? Besides the Savanah View at AKL..(we're trying to watch our budget) and Which room at CBR? We've never been to either...we stayed at WL in Dec. and we LOVED it, but we wanted to try some other resorts.

Hi, I just wanted to say that these are 2 awesome resorts. I've stayed in Trinidad North and Martinique at CBR. They both flank Old Port Royale ( food court, main pool, gift shop ) so they are a short walk there. I prefer Trinidad North because there are only 3 buildings and the quiet pool was empty. Stay away from Trinidad South and Barbados, unless you don't mind a long walk to OPR.

I booked standard rooms at AKL both visits and recieved free savanna view upgrades each time. I was on 4th floor each time, once on Kudu Trail, Sunset Savanna, and once on Kudu Trail, Arusha Rock Savanna. I saw lots of animals, however many people prefer the 2nd floor as you aren't as high and have a direct view of the savannas. I would still stay at AKL even with a standard view because I love everything about it. There are many viewing areas around the resort. I only requested bunk beds because I wanted the rest to be a surprise.

Actually, I didn't know that CBR had some many buildings. We've never been to either and I imagined AKL to be a similar layout as WL. But w/ CBR, I had no idea they were laid out in different buildings! We were looking for someplace quiet, to just relax. Hopefully, we can get a great room/spot at CBR! Thanks for all the info and insights!!!

Do you have any photos of either resorts? Sorry...don't mean to be a pain.

You cannot go wrong booking a stay at AKL... all the fun of Disney and a little bit more... very unique place to be - enjoy.

QJ411,sorry, but I don't have any way to post my pictures. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask, I love both resorts very much!! AKL is all in one building, which was great my last visit, because we had torrential downpours. I love exploring the resorts so I was happy I didn't have to get soaked every time I wanted to go to the gift shop, Mara, etc.. I love walking around the lake at CBR, though, and renting the surrey bikes or just relaxing in a hammock on one of the beaches. I thought Trinidad North was much quieter than Martinique, esp. at the quiet pool. Have a great time!!

Hi Patio!

We're heading down to WDW on May 9th, it'll be a short one this time, we're staying until the 11th and we're headin back home.

I've been looking at some photos and maps of CBR and I'm not sure if we're going to stick w/ that. I'm really looking forward to AKL though!!! We stayed at WL in Dec. and we LOVED it...and AKL looks very similar in it's own ways...it's very...umm...like the "log cabin" look.

We might change CBR to POR...but I think POR is also like CBR w/ the many buildings. I'm not sure , we wanted somewhere QUIET so we can relax and just take it easy. Have you ever been to POR?

Hi QJ411, I have been to POR and stayed in room #1611, Alligator Bayou, 1st floor, facing a quiet pool. This was in 1996, but I did visit last December. I really liked the food court better at POR as well as the boat ride to DTD...very relaxing!!! I also rented bikes to ride which was fun. It is very spread out with lush landscaping. I prefer CBR because I love the tropical feel, sandy beaches, the building's colors, and the lake. They are both beautiful so I'm sure you'll enjoy either.
I've never been to WL, but I believe it's similiar to AKL. I think you're going to love AKL. Keep me posted!!

Hi Patio!

OH!!! this is such a tough choice!!! We're there only 2 nights and 1 of which will be at AKL so it doesn't REALLY matter which one we stay at (I guess)

But I just want to choose the "perfect" one for the moderate price. But thanks for all ur help and info, I'll definetly let you know which one we end up choosing!!!
