The Cast
Me - always dreamed of going to Disney but never thought it would happen.
DH - his worst nightmare has finally arrived he's going to Disney.

Up early but decided not to eat breakfast but to get ready and go to wet n' wild. As its only across the road we take just the bare essentials and take a leisurely walk up the I Drive. We get there only to find you have to pay to hire the lockers etc so I have the combo which is a towel, ring and locker. We get a couple of sunbeds and head to the wave pool, I think the waves come every 15 minutes or so and after messing about for a while we secure the ring between the chair and the bed and go for a wander about. I know that I won't go on a lot of the rides as I have a fear of heights and am not a very good swimmer, but settle for a couple of laps around the lazy river. We finish looking round and go back to our beds to retrieve the ring only to find it has gone. Dh not impressed but after telling him theres nothing he can do about it we go back into the wave pool. We pack up and leave about 11:15 and fortunately they do not deduct my deposit for the missing ring.
We were not over impressed with wet n' wild it was clean and tidy but didn't really have any character, we never went back.

Back at the hotel we buy a coffee and watch the weather channel as a there is a severe thunderstorm watch on today. Decide to go to Walgreens and buy a toaster and kettle we also purchase some microwave soup and bread and head back before the rain starts.

The rain comes and after a few hours relaxing we decide to take my sd cards to the camera shop over the road as they are both full and we were planning to go to MGM tomorrow so I needed to delete them. Ponchos on we run across the road and into the shop. We ask how much to put them onto disc and are told it is $19.99 each, a bit steep we thought but oh well they needed to be done. The man serving spys my camera and is adamant he has the perfect thing for me a wide lens which sticks on. He leaves the box with me and shows dh and when I see the $499 price label I tell him not to bother. With a bit of persuading with dh he manages to convince him I should have it for $150 and the films put onto disc included in this price. Things were moving pretty fast for me and with hindsight we should have legged it out of there, but still with the lens purchased and the sd cards left to be put onto disc we leave to return in an hour for the cards and disc. We return and he tells us there was a problem but its okay now. I ask him a couple of times to make sure the photos are on the disc and that I can play it when I get home and he reassures me yes he is doing it all day every day. So off we go with the disc and the cards back to the hotel where after a bit of should I or shouldn't I the photos are deleted off the cards.

Still raining hard we decide to finish the night in the room and the toaster gets her maiden voyage. Note when making toast in a hotel room make sure the air conditioning is up high otherwise make sure someone is free to fan the fire alarm. Dh retires to bed and I go outside to watch the rain before going to bed myself. All in all it had been a pretty relaxing day.

Oh dear, Cazzie, sounds like a very dodgy camera shop you went in. :sad2:

We had a huge memory card and didn't fill it (but in hindsight wished I'd taken more scenic shots, not just kids with characters - difficult with one hand glued to younger DS  )

BIL took his to Walmart and was v impressed

You muct try one of Disney's Water Parks - loads of character there :)

I presume Walmart develop normal film too. Can you get it developed very quickly? I was intending buying some waterproof cameras to take into Discovery Cove and Blizzard Beach but have just discovered they are a 800 ASO film which means they will be damaged by the xray machines for the hand luggage. So I thought it would be best to buy them over there and get them developed. Did you notice if waterproof disposable cameras were cheap over there? Many thanks. :)

Great report, sounds like a problem with the camera shop though!!

Sue

Buy your disposable cameras in Walmart - they're very expensive onsite ($24 for a special 2-pack of Kodak with flash (not waterproof) - younger DS had used all his film and was driving me  wanting another one!)

I think they will do ordinary films as well, although I didn't look. Walgreens is closest to Disney and I think they did.

DW works for Walmart(Asda) in the UK so we decided to try them out. They are very cheap and do NOT charge you for any photos you do not want.

:love1:
