Anyone have experience with staying on the island? We might be looking at flying in from the U.S. and would prefer 2 bed/2 bath resort. I did explore northern Grand Cayman and seven mile road/beach; that is an area I am targeting.

We were just there a month ago, but it was via a cruise ship (2nd time to Grand Cayman).

TIA!

We will be there later this year on a cruise, for the first time.
SO excited! There will be several ships in port, so we have a room at the Westin.
We have been accruing SPG points, and hope to return to the Westin for a short vacation on the Island!

How was your day on GC last month?
It sounds like you really liked it and are planning to go back.

Of course, I do not have any experience. But, hopefully you are on Trip Advisor. I know that there are a few there on the Grand Cayman forum who might give you some some good info on Condo rental.

We've been there a few times on cruise stops and always wanted to go back to stay for a whole vacation. This year is the year! We are going 6/2-6/9. There are 6 of us so we have a 3 bedroom condo booked on Seven Mile Beach. It's called the Coral Stone Club. https://www.coralstoneclub.com/

It gets good reviews on trip advisor and so far all our interaction via the phone and email have been very pleasant. All oceanfront and it's supposed to be close to the grocery store and restaurants. Price was reasonable considering it's Grand Cayman. We decided to go ahead and rent a car so driving on the "wrong" side of the road is what we're most concerned with right now.

Thanks. I rented a scooter and it was very challenging riding on the opposite side. I went up 7 mile beach (near the turtle conservatory) and then got lost on the way back. Fortunately, I could see our cruise ship in the distance and just rode straight towards it!

I think GC is the best. I did Stingray City last time and it is surreal. There is no conventional port (TMK), but rather they use tether boats to get back and forth to the cruise ships.

I stopped at the bar (Rackam's) next to the tether boat area and had conch fritters and a tropical drink. Conch fritters were average at best, but the view and location more than made up for it.

Thought I'd pop back in and report on our experience. We were there all last week and I highly recommend the Coral Stone Club. It was quiet, clean, had everything we needed. All condos are ocean front and there's no fighting for beach chairs, etc. The Ritz is next door and looking at their squeezed in rows of beach chairs compared to the wide open beach at the CSC is quite the difference! Snorkeled right off the beach and saw many fish, stingrays, turtles, and a nurse shark!

The location is fantastic on 7 Mile Beach. Grocery and liquor store right across the street. We walked down the beach to the beach restaurant at the Westin and to Hemingways and both were good.

We did rent a car and got around easily on the "wrong side". Drove to the Turtle Farm and Hell to the North, Cayman Spirits rum factory near Georgetown, the airport, and over to Rum Point for the bioluminescent kayak tour (Cayman Kayaks). I would recommend that tour as well! We also did a snorkel/stingray city/Rum Point excursion with Native Ways and it was great too. They picked us up from the resort.

We had a fabulous trip and I would love to return!
