Good Evening All,

My wife and I are set to take our first Disney Cruise (first cruise for that matter) on 9/10. We had a question about the shore excursions. We are doing the early morning snorkeling trip in Grand Cayman, but want to spend the afternoon exploring the port area on foot. Does it make sense to go back to the boat, afterwards, change, then head back to port for shopping etc? Or is it advisable to pack a change of cloths for the day?

Thanks

I personally would take a change of clothes with me or at least a pair of shorts and a shirt to pull over my bathing suit.
Tendering back and forth from the Ship take up a great deal of time. You will have more time on shore if you don't go back to the ship before exploring on foot. :wave2:
Enjoy your cruise!

Come join us in the Sept. 10th cruise meets forum! I don't know how to paste the link but click on Cruise meets at the top of the forum board and look for our Sept. 10th thread. We would love to have you join! Enjoy your cruise it is our first 7 night.

You'll see quite a number of posts about Captain Marvin's - they have a great snorkeling trip. If you schedule the 10ish snorkel you'll have plenty of time to walk to their shop from the tender drop and make your trip. They are less $$ than DCL. Last year we ordered room service the night before with 3 sandwiches (with chips), 6 cookies and 3 sodas. We packed it in ice and brought it on our trip. By the time we got off the snorkeling trip we still had plenty of time to walk around and enjoy the area. We brought a change of clothes and would have been able to change right there in Captain Marvin's house. We didn't change but you could have.
Oh, and you can also be dropped off at 7 mile beach as that is on the way back to Captain Marvin's main shop.

It is very easy to pop back on ship, change and head back out, even with tendering. Unless you like to carry extra stuff around with you all day.
Grand Cayman is great!

Slightly off topic but thought you might be interested in seeing a couple of Cayman web cams. Click on the link below to view. Camera 2 on the page actually looks out toward the area where a lot of crusie ships anchor in George Town harbor. Camera 1 looks toward the area where some tenders dock. The Kroooz-cams web site also has lots of cams for other ports as well as ship cams.
