I read that there are often cats on the Disney property, and they let them stay because they keep the rodent population down. Sometimes Cast Members feed them. Has anybody ever seen a cat at Disneyland?

I've seen cats wandering around here and there, but my favorite was when Hungry Bear first opened for the morning. As we entered the seating area on the top level, we saw like 4 or 5 cats sleeping/lounging in the seating area that's farthest back, the part that's usually roped off (it was that day, too). We picked a table that was sort of near them so we could observe them. They didn't seem to be bothered by our presence, they just wanted to relax! It was so cute! I kept thinking, "Man, my cats would LOVE to live in Disneyland!" (<--ohh Tag Fairy, where are you?) Then again, so would I! :rotfl:

I've never seen the cats, but I always see little itty bitty tiny mice. Outside the Matterhorn and near the NOS train station is where I've seen them. Man oh man are they cute. I'm glad the cats aren't all over them, b/c I enjoy seeing those itty bitty meeses. :)

I have seen several cats. I saw one in the flower Mickey out front and another running through the flowers by the Walt statue. I have also seen them by the Island and Hungry Bear. I too have seen mice or rats and unfortunately saw one running across the canopy over the French Market. My DH used to do Pest Control and now refuses to eat there but I told him it is no big deal. That was probably just Mickey he saw. ;)

I had a cat come up to me once while I was eating at the Cafe Orleans. It was a very nice kitty - just wanted to be petted.

I also spotted 4 or 5 kitties lounging in the sun around Disneyland from the Railroad trip around DL. Fun to spot them!

We saw a batch of babies at the GC in November. The Mama was very tame! They were so cute. They always get adopted apparently!

many, many times. But then again, I've seen a few rats too.:scared1:

Just last week we saw the biggest rat ever. We were on the train at the Toontown station waiting for it to leave. There is a grassy area behind you when your sitting toward the end of the train. All of a sudden my DD started to freak out & there was a HUGE rat walking down the grassy area :scared1: .

We've also seen several cats near Indiana Jones & the Hungry Bear. Also at the Grand Califonian hotel there is a white, black & orange cat we've seen several times. It's usually around the pool area or White Water snacks. We always feed this kitty.

Yuck, I really shouldn't have opened this thread. I don't want to know about mice and rats at Disneyland (well, except for the ones named Mickey and Minnie.)

We always see the the same one around White Water Snacks.

I actually find it to be a good thing. Seems to me that it means they aren't putting out chemicals to kill the "pests", which means we are ALL safer. No kids are going to accidentally get into it, no box of rat killer will accidentally be used instead of salt, etc. The fewer chemicals there, the better!

I look at it that way too!

I've seen some in CA ~ don't remeber where and by the Hungry Bear. They're sweet, I hate wild cats but Disney one's are very tame.

We have always seen the cats around WWS and Hungrey Bear on each of trips. My DGF likes cats and is always trying to get close to them. Not one Mouse though.(Some excptions included.)
